The Children's Discovery Museum is top notch in creative learning. They have several "stations" for your child to play and learn. They have a Veternarian station, for your children to take care of their favorite stuffed pets. They also have a Grocery Store, complete with real mini shopping carts and cash register. Your children can be Pizza Makers in the CDMOD Pizzaria. They can make their own pretend pizza, using felt toppings, and serve it to you in the parlor. They have arts, crafts and paints to make your own creations. You can paint on a real car inside their showroom! They have a take-apart section for that little engineer in your family. It is a great indoor althernative for children's activities. At CDMOD they make learning fun! It is so affordable too! The admission is about $10, or you can purchase a Yearly Membership for only $18 for the entire year! You simply can't beat that for a children's attraction! This is more geared for children 12 and under.
PROS: Fun Creative Learning Play!
CONS: Only serves up till about age 12
This pediatric doctor's office is world class! The staff is just amazingly friendly. They have 2 female Dr.'s and 1 female Nurse Practitioner. Their nurses are all caring and kid-friendly. The children leave every visit with some kind of a trinket. Also, when you do well child immunizations, they give the children a real reading book to take home with them. The office is always open for walk in's, however they do ask that you call before you show up, so that they can get your chart ready before you walk in. It cuts down on your wait time. I have never waited very long at all. The lobby has books for kids to read, as well as toys to play with. My favorite thing about this dr.'s office is that they have 2 lobby/waiting rooms. One is for Well Child visits, and the other is for "Sick child" visits. This keeps the germs to a minimum while waiting for a check-up. The Dr.'s genuinely care about their patients, and even call to check up on them at home. They accept most insurance plans too. This is the best children's doctor in the Coachella Valley by far!
PROS: Caring Kid-Friendly Doctors and Staff
This Dairy Queen is the best in the valley! It's run by it's owners, who are both as sweet as their treats! The restaurant is super clean, but small. They do not have a public restroom though. Their portions are generous. They have the best Bananna Splits in the Coachella Valley. One of my favorites is the Blueberry Blizard with Whipped Cream. They offer a small menu of lunch items, (hot dog, chips or bbq sandwhich) but the ice cream treats are bliss! The prices are very, very affordable.
PROS: Delicious Ice Cream Treats!
CONS: Small Parlor Eating area, No public restrooms!
This sweet little cafe is like the old diners I remember as a child. Their food is freshly prepared and fabulous. It is a local's favorite, and hidden secret. Their menus items include things such as Cabbage Rolls, Philly Cheesesteak, Spaghetti, Meatloaf, Pot Roast, and more... Just like Mom used to make. Their soups are to die for! Fresh and tasty, chock full of nutrients! The staff is friendly, service is fast, and the prices are really reasonable. You can't go wrong with this place! They even have all the kids favorites...peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, spaghetti noodles with butter, chicken "dino's" and more. Their portions are generous. You just have to try this out for yourself!
PROS: Great Tasting Food, Affordable Prices, Lovely Atmosphere
This office is unlike no other! It's staff are the friendliest I have ever seen. The whole office is super clean. The dentists are all very friendly and knowledgeable. If you are nervous about a procedure, the dentist will actually pull out his saxaphone or guitar and sing for you to relax you! At Palm Desert Dental Center, they want to make sure their patients are comfortable, no matter what it takes. They are open for extended hours (till 6 pm) and try to accomidate your schedule. You never have to wait to be seen at this dentist. When your scheduled to be seen, actually is when you're seen. Going to this office makes going to see the dentist a pleasureable experiance!
PROS: Clean, Friendly, and Reliable Scheduling
Upon entering Dr. Soto's office, you feel like you are entering a fairytale. The murals on the walls are that of princes and princess'. The front waiting room has stand up video game consols. They have a huge salt water aquarium for the kids to peek at. The books in the magazine racks are for kids. She has children's books, magazine, and coloring books in the waiting room. The staff is super friendly to both the parent and the kids. Inside the patient rooms, there are TV's on the ceiling, and the kids can pick any DVD they want to watch. They have a huge kids collection to choose from. They offer Nitrus Oxide to calm the child before a procedure. Dr. Soto is a caring, nuturing, female dentist who relates well to the child. The kids are never pressured. They are treated with respect and love. They give the kids sunglasses to wear during the procedure, so the bright light doesn't hurt their eyes. They are also given headphones, so they can watch their chosen movie, and not have to listen to the instruments that are being used in their mouths. After their visit, they are given a "goodie bag" and a small trinket or sticker. Because of all of this, my 9 yr old daughter actually ASKED to go back to see the dentist! Dr. Rita Soto and her staff are truly WORLD CLASS! And, they accept most insurance plans!`
PROS: Very kid oriented! Very Friendly!
This waterpark is alot of fun for all ages. They have thrill slides for the adults, as well as a kiddie playland for the younger family members. The admission is very reasonable. If you live in the area, you can even purchase a Season Pass for about the price of 2 visits. They have a large wave pool where you can float atop the waves on innertubes. They also have a "lazy river" lagoon which you can circle around and relax in the sun. The food from the concession stands are pretty expensive, and just mediocre. They also have cabanna's which will provide a covered awning, and waitress service, but they are very costly. They don't have much shade otherwise. As it is a popular waterpark, you must arrive early in order to secure yourself a lounge chair near the wave pool. It is over all, a great place to take the whole family for summer fun!
PROS: Reasonably priced, Tons of wet, water fun in the sun!
CONS: Not enough shade, Cabanna's and food are too costly.
I was a customer at Washington Mutual Bank. My purse was stolen, and in it, my checkbooks, credit cards, drivers liscense, etc... I contacted my bank about cancelling all of the checks. It was a holiday weekend, so I was unable to go into a bank to change the account number. I was assured this was indeed done. When I was able to go into the bank in person, I was told that my account had been closed, and I was reported to ChexSystems, due to account abuse. Apparently, the purse theives were writing my checks all over town, and because the bank reported my checks as lost, not stolen, they were going through for some reason. When I brought in my police report to the bank manager, she refused to help me fix my account. Instead, she told me to seek credit counseling! This was not my fault! I called her for over a week, all the while, my funds were depleated because the bank was charging me a $25 NSF fee on every check that the theives wrote since they cancelled my account. I had to eventually call their Executive Offices in Seatlle, WA and a very helpful, kind manager there was able to rectify the situation. He fixed my account for me. I was victimized twice. Once by the theives and once by my bank branch. This Palm Springs branch is not at all helpful to their customers.
PROS: Free Checking
CONS: Unhelpful, uncaring staff
My family of 6 took my aunt to eat some Pizza at this Pizza Hut around 6:45 pm on a weekday. There seemed to be about 6 employee's in the restaurant. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which seemed unusual, since there were only about 3-4 tables in the entire place. We were sat down at a table which was filthy dirty. It had sauce and parmesean cheese all over the table top. The hostess apologized, and quickly went to get a towel to clean the table for us. We sat down and looked at the menu. Our waitress came to our table, and took our drink order. We also ordered our food right away. We ordered 2 large pizza's and some cheese breadsticks. We also ordered a salad bar. We seemed to wait quite awhile for our drinks. About 15 minutes had passed and my children were getting hungry. Since we never did see our waitress again, I walked up to the front of the restaurant and asked her to add on 2 more salad bars for my kids. After about 25 minutes had passed, we still had not received our cheese breadsticks appetizer. Again, I walked up to the front to inquire on them. A woman, whom I later found out was the manager, referred me to ask my own waitress about it. My waitress was very rude to me. She snapped at me with "We have 20 minutes to get your food out to you!" I was shocked to be yelled at like this by an employee of a restaurant of which I was a patron. I explained to the waitress that it had been 25 minutes, and I had not even gotten our appetizer, let alone our pizzas. She then yelled at me some more, saying "your food is almost ready, go sit down!" I was appalled. This was all done in front of other guests, as well as her manager. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. To my surprise, the woman who was standing there watching the whole time, was the manager. I explained how unhappy I was with what just occured. She apologized and then went to answer a phone.Meanwhile, my breadsticks came out, partially burnt, and the waitress DROPPED them on the table.
PROS: The prices are very reasonable
CONS: The staff yells at the guests and the service is SLOW.
I took my family of 6 to this restaurant for lunch. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. We ordered our food from the hostess at the front. She handed us only 3 place settings instead of 6. We had ordered 3 salad bar's in addition to some entree's. The hostess only gave us 2 salad bar plates. When our waiter arrived, he greeted us. He was very friendly. He brought us the missing plate and place settings. When our food came out, the french fries were still partially frozen. Our waiter failed to take our dirty salad bar plates from our table. He also failed to bring us fresh plates to get more salad. Our waiter never came back around to refiill our drinks, or to check with us about our food. There were a handful of employee's just sitting around watching the television's. The restaurant was not busy at all so there was no excuse for the lack of service. The salad bar was fresh and well stocked, however, the entree's were not very hot temperature wise, and taste was only mediocre. I spoke with the manager about my disatifaction. He was very apologetic. He checked on the frozen fries, and agreed, that something must have been wrong with their fryers. However, those cooks should have noticed that frozen fries were being put onto plates prior to them reaching my table. The manager offered us our money back, or a free meal on our next visit.
PROS: The salad bar was well stocked with fresh fruits and veggies.
CONS: Service lacked tremendously and the food came to the table still frozen.
