Present Perfect
I can't help myself when I go to Present Perfect. Whenever I need a special, more unique type of gift, this is one of my first stops. They have cute if pricy paper products too, but I think they really excel in the perfect type of Secret Sister type stuff that everyone wants to be special but isn't sure where to find it.
Turn Around Sound
Great selection of used CDs - love to browse through the racks here. Also have brought my own CDs in to trade out, and feel that they were very fair on the turn aorund value.
Haggen
I shop the fresh food departments at Haggens. For best quality produce and meats, Haggens is the place for me. I also love the pre-made salad bar - I can go in and prepackage salads I love for the week ahead, and they did all the prep work for me. One of my favorite things is the smaller portions section of the meat department. Since my hubby and I are just 2 people, it's nice to be able to go in and just get 2 steaks or 2 chops.
Discount Silks
When I was filling my kitchen nooks with silk plants (I have the black thumb of death with real plants) I found Discount Silks. The prices were way reasonable compared to other places I shopped, and the gals working there was very helpful in finding plants in the size I needed.
Jo Ann Fabrics & Crafts
The new Superstore in Vancouver is totally worth the drive. The scrapbooking section is like the website stepped off the page - not only do they carry a gob of stuff you never see in a normal joanns, but they also have an extensive selection of Joanns brand "rip-off" embellishments - similar to the name brands like making memories and such but at a fraction of the price. Super cool!
Jo Ann Stores
I shop Joann's when I'm looking for cheap fabric for curtains or something. Thier scrapbooking selection is minimal, as is their crafts section. They have a little bit of a lot of things, but nothing that special in my opinion. The lines are always long, and their cash register system is a dinosaur - so slow! But I do like the silk floral section, and the discount fabrics. I'd often rrather shop on their website than go into the store though - better selection and faster checkout.
Michaels
At most Michaels stores I often feel like I can't get help or that the employees don't really know what they carry. This store isn't really an exception - but it does have the best selection in any Micahels I've been to in the area. IF I have time to drive the extra distance from Hillsboro, I always stop at this Michaels.
Michaels
If I need something quick I hop into this Michaels. The selection is so-so, and I've yet to meet an employee who knows their products as well as I do. I've even argued with an employee about what they carry after store resets - they are nice, but no too well trained on what products they carry or how to use them.
Mill End Retail Fabric Store
I love the selection plus the employees actual sew, and can help you figure out what to buy. I feel like I get the best service here. Even though I'm just a hobbist, and don't sew very often, I never feel like I can't get the help I need in Mill End..
Storables
I am a storage fanatic! I have to have things stored in a proper place, and if it can be visible yet tidy, all the better. Stroables has helped me organize my closets, my kitchen, and best of all my scrap and stamp room. The plastic "kids" storage bins are perfect for crafts and such.
