Stanfords Tanasbourne
My hubby and I LOVE Stanfords. We eat there regularly, a practice allowed mostly by the fabulous happy hour special. From 4-6 on weekdays the bar menu is just $1.99 - we can get similar food/portions to the regular menu for less than $10 if we're willing to choose form the limited menu. My fav night is Wed night - the beer cheddar soup is to die for.
Sweet Tomatoes
Althought I love the salads at Sweet Tomatoes - I should since I make them myself - I still find myself missing a similar chain exisitng in CA and WA called fresh choice. teh signage is similar enough to make you think they could be in the same chain - concept is identical, but the soups and baked goods just aren't as fabulous as Fresh Choice. We still eat at Sweet Tomatoes - there isn't another salad type place we've found that we like better.
Noah's Bagels
I love bagels, and Noah's bagels are very good. My fav lunch to go is a bagel dog from Noah's though. I am not a huge hot dog fan, but these bagel dogs are so yummy.
Champion Cleaners
I have been taking my clothes to Champion for a few years now. I think the [rices are reasonable, and my clothes are nice and clean and well pressed when I get them back. I have had alterations done here as well, for a decent price with excellent results.
Powells Books
I like going to this Powell's better than the downtown store because it's pretty easy to get in and out of. The booksellers are less busy in my opinion, so when I have a big load of books to sell, I always head for the Beaverton store. You can park on the backside and get a dolly from the staff, bringing your books in without having to drag your stuff all the way througuh the store too. I love trading my books for product credit. Don't get me wrong - the library is a faboulous place, but at Powell's you're pretty much guaranteed to find what you want, and you won't be on a long waitlist to get it!
PROS: Easy parking, good selection
CONS:
Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club
The facility at HAC is simply fabulous. There is something for everyone - swimming, sports, classes. I joined to do theraputic swimming for a neck injury I sustained in a car accident, and part of what brought me to HAC was that they had an outdoor pool, and indoor pool, and a heated thereapy lap pool that was just a great thing for my neck. I liked the variety of class schedule. The service staff was always very helpful, and when we went in to tour the place to see if we wanted to join they did not put a lot of pressure on us. I've been to the Day spa a few times as well - wonderful staff and service every time!
PROS: wonderful facility, varied classes, supportive staff
CONS:
Fratangelo's
I've been getting my hair cut by Jennifer for about 5 years now. She's done everything I've ever asked - and I've asked for a lot! Short, long, permed, colored...I change my mind often, and she has pulled me through beautiful style after beautiful style - and managed to keep my hair healthy and shiny through it all. When I first started seeing Jennifer I was a little worried about the cost - but now I know that seeing her keeps me from browsing product after product in a quest for fabulous hair. She gives me fab hair every time I see her, and my cuts last a long time! Fratangelo's is located right off the Max too!
PROS: excellent service, fabulous hair
CONS:
D'lish
D'Lish is at the top of my list for gift giving. I love the products - they all smell so good. The staff is well-trained and knowledgeable about their product line. I always feel that I'm receiveing the right amount of help when I enter the shop. I hate it when you go to a store and at first the staff is all over you, then once you actually need help you can't find someone. I've never had anything but A-1 service at D'Lish. And the little bakery box gift wrap they do for your orders is simply fab!
PROS: great products, cute giftwrap, excellent service
CONS:
