Great brands for comfort at great prices. The John Tarr Store has been in Rockport for over 100 years. The family run business is either having a sale or offering a discount all the time. The old wood, the ocean view out the back window, the dry sense of humor of staff and owners, makes it a great experience.

Nichols Candies Inc

A wide assortment, really good quality handmade chocolates. The best are the caramels and the bridge mix.
They have great assortments for holiday and old fashioned thin ribbon candy which is hard to come by. Get there early for Holidays because the last minute lines are long.

Nantucket Sweets

Covered in light and dark chocolate, these treats combine the right mix of sweet and tart. A great gift for a hostess, birthday or co-worker. And the price is right at $5.95. Really unexpected.

Designs By Helen

Helen is very knowledgeable and her attention to detail is great. She can do anything from heming to a full bridal party outfits. She also gives lessons on top knotch equipment. I highly recommend Helen for all you sewing needs.

Gull Restaurant Inc

The Gull Restaurant is open May - Oct. The food is worth the price and you can be certain it will be good - a little better than good. The bar area may look interesting, but is generally very crowded and smells like public restroom and bad plumbing.
The salad with blue cheese and craisins is particularly good.

PROS: lot's of seating, good pricing
CONS: smell, so-so service

Beach Knoll Inn

Sweet rooms, clean and well prices. Only steps from 2 beaches, artist colony, shops and restaurants. Open from May til October. Some rooms have kitchens! Many guests come year after year.

Goose Cove Gardens

If you are looking for really healthy seedlings, lot's of variety and some realitively unknown species - Goose Cove is a great place for you. Carefully tended and nutured plants.

Wolf Hill Home & Garden Center

Wolf Hill Garden center has the largest selection of healthy plants, shrubs and ornamental items. Displayed beautifully so that you want everything. Can be a little pricey.

PROS: good service, easy to find things, large selection
CONS: a little more expensive than smaller shops

C & E Nails

Lot's of fun. Great service. Reasonable prices. This nail salon is owned by local women who have a nice business.
Appointments are easy to get and the hours a great.

Beautiful glassware, unique clothing, candles, jewelry and more. If you are seeking a gift or something beautiful for yourself, you can find the right thing in any price range. Inventory changes frequently. However, I am lusting for a beautiful stained glass mirror that is handmade for $275. Instead, I settle for elegant candles in beautiful colors for under $5. A treat just to browse.
