Louisa's on Eastlake offers a great selection of pastries and fresh baked breads... the macaroons are delicious and i almost died when i had a naiaimo bar... incredible.
Great spot for breakfast on the weekends or lunch any day. Louisa's offers a good selection of (fantastic) omelettes(lighter alternatives too) and some mighty fine sandwiches.
naked juice for those health nuts
wifi for the geeks
ever notice one of those restaurants thats ALWAYS crowded... no matter what the hour the dining room is full?? well Machiavelli is one of those places, and deservedly so.
The dining room is small enough to afford most tables a seat at a window and guarantee a kind of intimacy that makes this restaurant unique in a sea of corporate-blah-cucina.
Machiavelli's fresh baked bread(mmmm... olive-loaf) is a perfect precursor to a meal that is always spot-on.
the waitstaff are very friendly and attentive
the wine selection is decent, but my fav. is of course the house wine by the carafe...
the restaurant is affordable - most entrees are about 10 bucks.
Djan's was a surprising break from the norm after visiting thai tom for years.
The restaurant resides in a converted house on NE 45th and features a nicely appointed dining room downstairs. For larger parties there is a (shoes off and sit-on-the-floor) private dining room/party room upstairs.
The staff are all wonderfully friendly and quite attentive.
The food is very satisfying - thus far i have tried six different dishes and have been extremely pleased with all of them (try the rama).
to top things off the prices are very resonable with most entrees starting at $7.50
Free parking is available directly behind the restaurant.
as if this all wasnt good enough Djan's also delivers and offers catering services.
PROS: great food, nice staff, affordable prices, free parking, delivery
