Lush
And I am not exagerating! Their shampoos are great, their soaps are great, their lotions are amazing and their bath products are priceless. Any time I need a pick me up and I get some lush my whole week is positively charged. The smell when you walk in the store, or recieve a box, is amazing! The staff are nice and their variety is really fun.
Their massage bars are great! And most products have been gentle enough to use on my infant. wow. Try them!
Things to try:
Big Shampoo, American Cream conditioner, any bath bomb especially the jasmine scented ones, any bath melt or bubble bar, Dream Cream lotion, Karma Kream lotion (or anything Karma scented), Honey I Washed the Kids soap, Fig and Leaves Soap (the only 2 homemade style soaps which *dont* dry skin), and Buffy the Backside Slayer!
PROS: See above!!
CONS: Can get pricey
A Mother's Nature Midwifery
I havent had my baby yet, so we will see but so far Kelli has impressed me! She is professional when she needs to be, caring as a mama, and very intellegent. She is not only knowledgable about homeopathics and herbals but also about traditional medicine. She reads and quotes medical journals along with her homeopathic training. She made me feel immediately at ease due to her competence and her outgoing, friendly nature. She is not meek, and will definitely take charge when need be but she is an advocate of the mama and makes sure the mama feels good and is good as much as she can. Her office is in a beautiful and tranquil location which makes you feel as though you are on a retreat every time you visit!
She remembers people, listens, and is kind. I am looking forward to having her as my midwife!
PROS: wow too many for this tiny box :P
CONS: her office is osmewhat far from home for me
Dom's Pizza Inc
I am suprised I am the first reviewing this place. Around here, everyone loves Doms. The pizza is some of the best around, and even better its locally owned! Its open for lunch, but can get somewhat crowded so be careful what time you go. The service is always friendly and they have old school arcade machines in there for your wait.
The only cons would be that they do not deliver and that they are not open very late and sometimes service can be slow.
PROS: Best locally owned pizza joint in Orlando
CONS: don't deliver, can be somewhat slow when busy
Costanzo's Deli
Wow! I cannot say enough about this place! My dh went here when he was a kid and its evidently as tasty as it was 20 years ago. I had a meatball sub which was easily the tastiest I have had. He got one with all kinds of fancy italian meats on it and wow. I didn't realize they could be so tasty! And the canolis!! I only wish we lived closer :/
PROS: everything! Tasty, quaint, wonderful canolis!
CONS: Not close to downtown
Cicis Pizza
We went on a week night and it was overrun! There were so many people you could hardly sit down. The pizza was mostly cold or gone before you could get it depending on the flavor. The desert pizza was the only redeeming item there. The tables were all covered in grossness, everything just exhuded grease. It seemed far dirtier than your average McD's.
PROS: meh Cheap.
CONS: noisy, dirty, overcrowded, yucky
Dexters Of Thornton Park
This is one of our favourite places for brunch! They have wonderful eggs benedict, waffles and this great thing similar to huevos rancheros. Their mimosas are also amazing and come in many flavours.
Their dinner and lunch food is quite good too; deffintiely be sure to have their sweet and spicy sweet potatoe chips!
PROS: Tasty
CONS: Can be loud, somewhat spendy
Common Grounds
This place has great coffee, pretty good pastries, relaxing atmosphere and computers nestled in the back :) Its the kind of place you could bring a date and sit unnoticed in the back or bring all your friends after happy hour at McCormmicks (next door) and have an eqully good time! They even have a piano :)
Wynkoop Brewing Co
I have been coming here for years and every time I go I am impressed with how tasty the food and beer is and how professional and nice the staff are. My favourites are the fish and chips, buffalo burger (when I ate meat), their spinach artichoke dip was the first in town and remains the best! Their specialty beers are always tasty but the Railyard Ale is a wonderful standby :) I brought my little one there and the waitress spent quite a long time making sure /he/ was happy too!
Kid Quarters
We chose to get my son's loft bed here because Rooms to Go got such horrible reviews from people (both in person and all over the internet!). Their selection was awesome and they have really cool brand called Flexa. We ordered essentially exactly the bed they had on display and yet it took 2 months for /most/ of the pieces to get here (we are still waiting for the final pieces to arrive). The guy at the warehouse keeps giving us the run around about it and its getting stupid. So, be sure to keep after them or find another Flexa dealer in town if you want a Flexa bed!
Eastern Mountain Sports
Over 10 yrs ago we bought a backpack at EMS and every so often it breaks. This backpack has a lifetime warranty, so we simply bring it in and its happily fixed for free! I have never experienced anything so great! The staff are helpful and their store has lots of reasonably priced cool camping and outdoors stuff. Although we do love the big REI in Denver, this is closer and we know anything we buy will last :)
