I took my son to DMV to get his permit and was shocked to find that the law had once again changed. They wouldn't let my son take the test for his permit until he showed proof that he was enrolled in a behind the wheel course. I called different schools and they all wanted the classes all paid for up front in order to give me the form that DMV required. When I called Driversity, they said they would give me the form for a $30 fee! This was great considering I wouldn't have to pay the entire $240 up front! They gave me the form within minutes and my son passed his test!
Kinder's Meats has been around for many years. I think it originally was started as a family business in Richmond, Ca. I have personally shopped at the one in Concord on Industrial Way and am very anxiously awaiting the Grand Opening of the one in Antioch/Brentwood on Lone Tree. Kinders Meats are the very best quality you can get. Try the marinated ball tips (YUM!!). They also sell BBQ sandwiches during the lunch hour since the Concord store is close to the refineries. The meat is a little pricey but it is very good. You could always buy the meat at Costco and just get the marinade at Kinders. They make their own marinade and it is awesome! You have to try it!!
My kids have been going to Waterworld and having fun there ever since it was built. I do have a couple of tips I would like to share, though. You are not allowed to bring in outside food. So that means the food they sell there is outragously expensive. However, you can go out to your car and eat outside. There are a couple of picnic benches outside just for this purpose. The other thing is that there is very little shade and if you don't get there right when they open you cannot find a place to sit, let alone something with shade. I did find out yesterday that you can bring in your own lawn chairs, but it is still tough to find something in the shade. Also, if your kids are old enough to be dropped off, you do not have to pay for parking. Just tell the parking attendant you are there to drop off and they wave you on through.
My Mom always took her dog to this vet and when she died and we inherited the dog, I continued to take him there. When we go on vacation we have to have this dog boarded as he cannot be left alone for long. They only charged $12.50 per day and that included food. They take him out of the kennel periodically and exercise him. I paid a little extra to have him bathed the day before we got home and I think that was another $10. These people make it possible for us to go on vacations and not have to worry constantly about the dog. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is that when I took the dog in for shots one day, I had a question about a behavioral problem. They said I would have to talk to a vet for that and it would cost another $35 to talk to him!
I have taken my dog to this vet for about 3 years now, and have been very happy with the service. In an emergency, they were able to see my dog immediately and treated her quickly, too. I have also recommended them to friends that were looking for a new vet. They seem to be moderately priced but the office is in a good location and is always very clean inside.
My dog had a lump on his leg so we took him to this vet since it was the closest to our house. They did a needle biopsy and came back in a few minutes telling me had a very agressive form of cancer and was going to die unless I paid over $2500 for surgery (amputation) and chemo treatments. I took my dog home and thought about it and decided to enjoy him for the time he had left. Well, that was 10 years ago and this dog is running around in the best of health. The lump is still there and it never got any bigger. Other vets have said they abviously misdiagnosed. So that makes me wonder, when they charged me $85 for the biopsy, did they even test the fluid? I will never go back there again. They did the same thing to a friend of mine, so I know it wasn't just a fluke!
Jamba Juice is a very good choice on that hot summer day or when you need a healthy alternative to a full breakfast. The only bad thing about this particular location is it seems to take forever to get your order. Also, it is very noisy in the store. I also wish there were more selections available on the low calorie menu.
I love shopping at Target! I go in there with my little list and end up spending over $100. However, some Targets are better than others. The one on Lone Tree seems to be smaller and therefore, dosn't have as much variety to choose from. And yesterday I had a problem with an employee. I would prefer to do my shopping at the Pittsburg or Tracy Target, but the new one in Antioch is much closer to my home. Another thing I noticed is the few items that they put on clearance can usually be found for a lower price at a different "older" Target.
My son took his car in for an oil change the other day. Two days later he was complaining his car had overheated. When we checked the radiator it was bone dry! If Spee-Dee checked it on Tuesday, how could it have run dry by Thursday. We added coolant and it has been fine since. Now we feel like we better go back and check all the fluids again. Next time we will try Oil Can Henry's.
