East Bay Animal Hospital

I switched from taking my elderly chihuahua to East Bay instead of Banfield due to his serious heart condition which I didn't feel Banfield had enough knowledge. I picked it due to location, but when I walked in I knew I was in the right place because of the curio cabinet of miniature schnauzer collectibles. My first two dogs were mini schnauzers and the owner, Dr. Marshall used to breed schnauzers and chihuahuas! Anyways, the staff is friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and seems to go the extra mile. Prices are average for vet care, but I think not as much as Banfield. I would recommend them.

Americare Physicians Group

I see Dr. Shari Berg at this 2-physician practice. After moving from PA to FL I had to find a regular doctor and visited a few before deciding on her. She is a younger doctor, but seems to be very smart and she is very compassionate and listens to your needs. You also don't have to wait a long time to get an appointment.

PROS: Compassionate, caring, knowledgeable

Ruth Eckerd Hall

I saw Billy Idol place here a few months ago and it was great. I loved the small, cozy feel of the theatre. I believe it only holds about 3000 people and every seat is a good seat. The sound/acoustics were also excellent and I didn't feel like I was going to go deaf. We were about half way back on the far end and it was still an excellent vantage point. I stopped going to the large venues years ago because I couldn't enjoy myself with the massive amounts of people, traffic, and bad seats. If any more acts I like come around, I hope they play here!

Pet Supermarket

This store is a great alternative to the larger Petsmart-types. They have a wide selection of supplies for all types of pets but with a small store feeling. Prices are a little high, but on par with most other places. They also sell small animals here (ferrets, rabbits, g.pigs, parakeets, other rodents).

Office Team

I was placed in my first full time temp to perm position with OfficeTeam after just a month of signing up with them in December 2004. They found me a great job with the salary I was looking for, location, benefits, etc. You can also take their Microsoft Office tests and get certified for free.

Gieseke Patty - Bay Area Women's Care

I saw Carole Anderson, R.N. on a Saturday morning and she was very helpful in discussing and addressing my particular needs. She answered all my questions to my satisfaction and was still willing to help me with my problem despite my needle-phobia (I did not want to get a blood test). The offices are very homey and spacious and they seem very current on their equipment.

South Hills Movers

We used this mover in November 2004 to move from Pittsburgh to Florida and everything went extremely smoothly. We actually had to consolidate 2 separate households (mine and my mom's) into one trip to the same place in FL. They were efficient in packing the truck and arrived in FL on time. Each item was marked with a numbered tag and accounted for as it was removed from the truck. Overall, an excellent job.

Kohl's Department Store

I really like Kohl's because of their low prices, the wide selection of clothes (referring to misses/juniors), and there is always a sale going on. You can really make out like a bandit during the sales.

Metro Moving & Storage

I used this moving service at least 3 separate times because their prices were so reasonable compared to others in the area. The owner (who also supervises) is a very nice guy. They are always on-time and efficient.

Campbell Philbin Medical Assoc

Dr. Campbell is wonderful. Unfortunately I moved to FL so could no longer continue seeing him. However, I will say he is very caring, and actually LISTENS to what you have to say. When he doesn't have an answer for what your problem is he doesn't give up looking for the answer and is willing to try alternative treatments and medications that most Dr's don't know anything about. He also doesn't tell you "it's all in your head - go see a psychiatrist". Consider yourself lucky if you can get an appt with Dr. Campbell.
