Broadway Cleaners
This is the cleaners who I always trust with my clothes. They have super friendly employees who always have smiles on their faces and are always ready to help you, and their service is excellent. My clothes have never been damaged, and they always come out looking good. Thanks, Broadway Cleaners!
P.S. and it's a very convenient location, too.
PacSun
I'm not really into the whole "surfer" look, but that's what California's all about. This store has it all to complete your California look. They have cute flip flops, belts, and jewelry. Some of their clothes are expensive, and you can get the exact same thing for cheaper in a department store. Some of their clerks are snobby, but it's an okay store. Another typical store for all the Cali teeny-boppers.
Grocery Store
The Grocery Store has really nice quality clothes, if you can afford their prices, that is. I would recommend this store to more middle aged moms, though. But their shoes are great for people of all ages. They have original looking designs and styles, but some of their colors are too out there....if you're one of those people who like to make their own fashion statements, then this is a great place to go. If you're not, then the neighborhood Gap is fine, too. and much less expensive. ;)
Color Me Cocoa
I personally prefer to tan the good old-fashioned way - naturally. But that's because I tan fairly easily. My friends on the other hand, can't. So, I went with them to Color Me Cocoa. This is one of those mist on salons. When they came out, they looked like they just came back from Cancun, because their tans looked so natural. They weren't orange, or blotchy looking. If you absolutely HAVE to get a tan this way, then this place is not so bad.
Fringe Salon
This salon is one of many in Burlingame, but it's still great. It has really nice decor and a friendly atmosphere, and the staff are great, and provide you with refreshments. Their prices are fairly expensive, but worth it in the end. They do a great hair coloring job. It's a great place to go for great haircuts, almost decent prices, and great stylists.
Richard of Burlingame
I personally hate it when hair stylists do your hair based on their own opinions or styles. That's why I loved Richard of Burlingame, because that's something they didn't do. I don't remember the name of my stylist but she was very good. I didn't know what kind of hair cut I wanted - I just knew that I wanted something different, and she gave me something based on my own personal sense of style. And it turned out super! You should come here, it's terrific!
Michaels
I've been looking all over for iron-on paper (where you can iron on images, words, whatever onto clothes), and I couldn't find it ANYWHERE until I went to Michaels. They have SO many fun aisles, and you can stay there forever if you don't keep track of time. If you DO find a salesperson (they're usually always at the front), they're pretty nice and are glad to help you (if that doesn't involve moving from the front ;)...great place for school projects too.
House of Humor
This place is SO much fun. My friends and I consider it as one of our hangouts - until they kicked us out..but that's another story. For Halloween, ANY costume you need, you'll find it here, and the salespeople are willing to help you (sometimes grumpy, but that's also another story :)...it's fun to bring all your friends here and take pictures in wacky costumes, but don't be too loud.
Claire's
I've been going to Claire's ever since I can remember. What I love about them is their 10 for $5 sales. They have a special section (a few times a month, I think) where you can choose 10 items and only pay $5. That's what I call a good deal. Some of the earrings I've bought here have given me ear infections, so I suggest if you have sensitive ears, to shop in their little "sensitive ear section" but it can be pricier. I've gotten 99% of my jewelry from here. If you're looking for jewelry to match with your outfits (if you love to match), then this is the place. The perfect place for a teenage girl!
Morning Glory
I've been hearing so much stuff about Morning Glory- but now I realize that people exaggerate. The stuff in the front is 'wearable' - the really cute stuff is SO EXPENSIVE that it might as well stay in a magazine. The sales section at the back is so incredibly tacky. I hate to talk like this about any store but I'm just being honest (or maybe it's just my taste). They all looked like dark bags to me (they were skirts and dresses). Maybe I'll have to give it another try, but that's my opinion.
