Foot Locker
I have shopped here on at least three occasions and each time I visited I immediately felt steered toward a much most expensive shoe than I was interested in. The staff almost immediately "assigns" a sales person to you, and no one else in the store will help but that person. They always want you to buy a pricey leather cleaner, sole insert and shoe laces as well. I generally try to shop elsewhere.
Family Dollar Store
If you are looking for a decent variety of dollar store type items, this may be worth a stop. I usually go to this location for pencils, pens and other school type supplies. They have a whole row dedicated to that kind of product. They also carry a good line of personal care items, bubble bath and lotions, etc. They have abundant parking too, so it is probably worth visiting.
Dollar General Store
I usually avoid dollar stores because they tend to have poor quality items that fall apart or don't really serve a purpose, but this particular store carries lots of great items. I really like to go here for hair care items and food products. It is pretty orderly and the staff is relatively nice. The parking can be tough due to its location in a shopping center.
USA Baby
I generally try to avoid this store if I am in a hurry or not sure what I am exactly looking for. It can be very messy and things are often out of stock, which is a hassle if you are shopping with a little one with you. But they do have a few really great sales every year that have items marked way down. If you are looking for a crib, changing table, etc, it is worth a visit.
Circuit City
It is fun to peruse the selection of equipment they have at Circuit City. I have gone in before looking for a camera, not knowing at all what it is I exactly wanted, and left feeling confident that I picked the best one, due to the help of a friendly sales staff. They do not try to push the most expensive model on you either...they actually listen to what you need and make sure you get just that.
Big Lots
It may sound cliche, but it is like a treasure hunt every time you visit Big Lots! It is so fun to see what you will find. Recently I found a baby monitor on sale for about $20 less than I could find it anywhere else. The aisles are a bit hard to navigate with a cart and kids in tow, but it is worth the stop.
Best Buy
I really like shopping at Best Buy because of the selection and the services they offer. I needed a binder spiral bound and it was done within an hour and the price was reasonable. The staff is friendly and very helpful at helping the customer decide what will best suit their needs. The parking is not the best at this location, however.
Auto Repair Zone
I took my car in for a small dent repair, and expected a much better experience. It was recommended by a friend, but the repair took almost a week longer than projected and the insurance paperwork was a major headache. The staff stands outside smoking nearby and the location is not as tidy as it should be.
