Marshalls
You'll have to browse the racks frequently but you can almost always find good looking business casual name brand clothes at great prices. A good place to find a nice looking suit, pants, shorts, socks, just about anything at a low price.
PROS: Inexpensive name brands
CONS:
Sprint
People are going to complain about cell phones because there's always going to be poor coverage areas but I've never had any major problems with Sprint PCS since I bought my phone at this store last year. I got a mail in rebate and the clerk was able to look up my usage history and give me the rebate new customers were getting to sign up. He programmed my phone and made sure the internet worked before I walked out.
A & T Heating & Air Cond
Don't give them your phone number because they'll call you every 6 months wanting to come out for regular maintenance which translates to additional charges. Then if you're in a bind they don't seem to have anything available for a week or two out.
Toms Dry Cleaners
You'll never have a problem because if you do, they'll make sure it gets fixed. Clean shirts with the right amount of starch and ready in the same day if you need it.
Play It Again Sports
Lots of selection here for gently used equipment. Sometimes you can haggle a little on the purchase price for added savings. They buy items too but don't look to make a killing getting rid of your old golf clubs.
Borders Books & Music
The main floor houses the best sellers, magazines, a cafe for snacks, and tables to read or study. Upstairs business and technology has it's own section and downstairs you can browse music and movies. Go there to people watch or spend a Sunday afternoon exploring something familiar or something new. Prices are reasonable and staff is knowledgeable.
Goldys Flower Shop
Great place to stop if you need a nice bouquet or maybe some lucky bamboo. Sales clerk is helpful and friendly. Store space could use some updating as the neighborhood is changing to a more modern city scape.
Chicago Plant & Flower
They have a better selection of plants than flowers and their knowledge is pretty good but as with any independent shop you're going to pay a little more. The space could use a little updating to give it a more modern and appealing look too.
Amoco Food Shop
If it's an emergency put in $5 and make another stop in the suburbs or once you get out of the city. You'll pay as much as $.50 per gallon more than you would elsewhere. The only reason this place is in business is because of it's convenient location and people are lazy.
PROS:
CONS: Expensive
Walgreens
Provides convenience and more reasonable prices than a 7-11 or White Hen. They have everything from chapstick to deodorant. Get your prescriptions filled or pick up some cold medicine. Whatever the need, get it here in a hurry.
