An excellent school for those with artistic talent that are willing to go the extra mile to succeed. Not for the student who wants to be babysat by the teacher. The classes here are taught by professionals in the industry who have a lot to give but may not necessarily know how to teach in the best possible way. If you work with the instructor, you will be able to get more than you could dream in knowledge and experience. If you expect it to be handed to you, you will get nothing.
Wah Kue used to be the mecca for giant monster and mecha fans, but has degenerated in recent years to be primarily a digi/pokemon trading card place. Oh how I long for yesteryear...
A claustrophobic little store that has everything you could possibly imagine for role playing, including some items that have been out of print for up to 10 years. These guys have been around forever, probably will be, because they are the best. The only thing they could use is more space.
Great place for Japanese imports, staff is knoweldgeable and will make special orders for you, as well as hold things that they think you might be interested in.
Friendly staff, when I took my first photography course and needed help figuring out my camera, they took the time to teach me how to change the battery and take care of it. The store is very spacious, surprisingly, but they are a little bit overpriced.
This great diner restaurant is open 24 hours. If you go during meal times, they are packed, but if you go at off times you'll get a nice quiet meal. The staff is mostly friendly, and the food is great. Try their grilled chicken nachos and the old-fashioned egg creams. They have great french toast and their potato salad is amazing!
La Posada is a great little hole-in-the-wall Mexican take-out place with a friendly staff. They have good, homemade food in good sized portions for low prices.
The staff and owner of Fourth World are the nicest people, and they go out of their way to make you happy. They have a good selection of Japanese imports, and you'll find things here that you would never find anywhere else.
The location is great, and they are a good store with a wide selection of new books, but they have been slowly taken over by their video game section.
Cosmic Comics is a very small place with a nice staff and a good selection of statues, but they don't order much in the way of comics, as if they are afraid they'll get stuck with them.
