I ventured to the Gene Juarez Academy after getting my hair done at their main salon and realizing how expensive it was! I was very pleased with the results at the Academy but it did take forever. I expected that with a school but you have to be prepared. You can get everything done here from colors to nails. Just make sure you slot out most of the day to spend here!
I ventured into the Paper Zone mainly because of the bright colorful colors that you could see from the window. I walked out with more paper products that I could possibly need but lots of fun stuff. I actually found it a great store for scrapbooking paper and for wrapping paper and other birthday party related items. They do well at their specialty!
I went to Brassfields to treat myself one time but I left dissapointed with how much I paid to not get what I really wanted! I look young and I felt like I was treated differently because of that even though I could afford to pay. The stylist just seemed to do what she wanted also. I wouldn't go back.
I started going to Dr. Burrell when I was about 8 years old and continued going there until I finally moved away at age 22. HE is very knowledgeable and has the best staff - they seem to know you personally. They will accomodate almost any schedule requests you have as well!
H & L has it all. They are the top produce place that I know of in the Tacoma, WA area. And they have weekly specials so as long as you shop in season - you usually get a good deal. I love that everyone in the store is so helpful and can give you ideas on what to do with each type of produce. Plus this location is very easy to get to and hard to miss!
I lived in this apartment complex for about a 8 months and really enjoyed it. The apartments are really good sized with vaulted ceilings and you have a big patio with a storage area on it. I do wish they had more covered parking! I didn't have to deal with management too much so they seemed to do their job. Ive heard that this place is now privately owned condos.
I have been to a luncheon and a few receptions at the Wright House. It's a very beautiful location that was well planned and designed for these purposes. I've noticed though that those who use the outdoor gardens and put up lights really get the full impact of the place. The price is about average but you have to use their caterers and food. The staff is very friendly and helpful though!
This location is a converted mansion that is now used for wedding receptions. I think it's a gorgeous house but I wanted more of a big common room rather than a bunch of small rooms. I think if you were to have an outdoor wedding and use the rooms inside the house for food - it would work better. The price is actually pretty reasonable though and they let you bring in your own caterers.
I live right behind this bakery so I can smell how good it is! They have this Honey Whole Wheat bread that just melts in your mouth. They have a promotion where on certain days it is buy one, get one free. A great deal! I usually stock up on these days. It's cheaper to buy bread here than at the grocery store!
We ordered all of our tuxes from this place because they had such a great deal on price and selection. The dress section of the store left much to be desired though. They only had 2 dresses in my size and encouraged me to try on dresses that were too big and would have cost me a fortune to alter. So just stick to the tuxes here!
