I took my car into Greulichs and was highly frustrated after the experience. I got there and had to wait 10 minutes before someone would even help me. They did offer a shuttle ride so I took that back to work. But when I went back later in the day - they gave me this huge list of repairs that needed to get done. I was highly upset but decided to take it to a few other shops and get it checked out. The next place I went to - I showed them the report I had gotten and they said I didn't even need half of the repairs. Greulichs tried to charge me for $700 worth of work that wasn't necessary. I felt like I was ripped off just because I was female and would never recommend this company to anyone else.
YC's is a great little restaurant. You get to go down a line and put in whatever meat, veggies, sauces, etc that you would like and then watch them grill it for you. They have tons of suggestions on the different sauce combinations you can make but you can do whatever you want. It's perfect for those people who are picky about what they eat because they get to decide themselves. The prices are pretty good and include a drink as well.
AMC 24 is a popular place in Mesa. Not only are there 24 screens at the movie theater - there are tons of restaurants and shopping venues nearby. AMC is great because they will let you bring in food from the nearby businesses into the theater and many of the businesses give you a discount if you show your ticket stub. There is a nice grass area out in front of the theater to sit also. I find it to be a reasonably priced theater that is trying to keep up with up and coming technology.
I wish this place was closer to my house! This market is great because it has tons of fresh produce for a really cheap price. I can go there and get twice as much as I could at a grocery store but at half the price. I love it! The kids will love the wide selection of candy in the store as well. The only bad thing is that the place is usually crowded and the market isn't very big so you sometimes have to fight your way through the crowds. It's worth it though!
City of Mesa Library is a decent free library. I believe there are 3-4 branches in the system. The nice thing is you can check out and return to any of the branches. I love using their online system that lets me reserve books and request books to be sent to other branches. They have a new automated system to check out so you don't even have to wait for someone to help you! It's definitely not the biggest library but I have had no problems with it and will continue to frequent it.
This was the first year that I actually paid someone to do my taxes because they were too complicated. ATA did a great job explaining everything for me and taking care of it so that everything went smoothly. He even arranged prepayment coupons for us to work with. The price is great although he increases his prices every year - it's still a great deal.
Mangos is a small little cafe on Main Street in Downtown Mesa but don't let that fool you! They serve great chips and salsa while you are waiting for your meal and the food is really authentic. The price is fabulous and the portions are very generous. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. The owners come around and talk to the customers and make you really feel like they care about what you think.
Gecko Grill was one of the first places I went to when i moved to Arizona. it's a unique place in that they serve Mexican Food and BBQ food in the same place. But it works! They have amazing bean dip for you to eat with your chips while you are waiting for the food to come out. The food is pretty cheap but quality. I enjoy the green sauce that they have as well.
I went to Americopy on a recommendation and was very happy with the results. They came in at a much lower price than their competitors and spent a lot of time helping me out. They did a test run for me and made sure it was approved before doing a final run on my print product. I was very happy with their staff, the end result, and the price that it cost me.
Costa Vida is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the East Valley. They have great prices - especially for the portion sizes. The atmosphere is a surfing environment with a huge screen tv showing surfers and surf videos. Costa Vida is known for quite a few things - one is their sweet pork, another are their smothered burritos, and their chicken salads with the creamy tomatillo ranch dressing. It can be crowded - so come early on the weekends. But once you go once, you'll probably be back again because the food is addicting!
