David Owens Vintage Clothing
David Owens Vintage Clothing may be small in size but the selection is nothing but choice. They carry name brands and hard to find funky outfits from different style periods. They also carry men's vintage outfits but personally I think the women's outfits are better. They also have a stellar jewelry case.
Moo Shoes
I'm not quiet sure why they call this store Moo shoes. I didn't see any cows. Unless they were going for moot and the "T" fell off. Anyways this is a very good shoe store. The shoes are pretty and comfy and animal friendly. Oh my! The staff is friendly and prices are fairly reasonable.
Alicea Boutique
Plenty of hip and funky one of a kind items from indie designers including To Tie For, Jinxbags and original custom creations from owner Danny Alicea. This is one of those rarely known hidden gems in New York that stores hot items for decent prices. If you love fashion but are strapped for cash you have got to come here.
Lower East Side Tenement Museum
Did you ever wake up one morning and say to yourself "Gee whiz I wonder what it must feel like to be so poor you have to live in one room with a bunch of other immigrants and have no privacy!" Neither did I but if you are the least bit curious the Tenement museum offers walking tours that show actual apartments back in the day when tenement slums were allowed.
Children's Museum Of The Arts
Established in 1988, the Children's Museum of the arts is a place where young children between the ages of two and ten are encouraged to be wildly creative at. The muesum is stocked with drawing, sculpting, and materials for making costumes and puppets. They have interactive exhibits for kids to play in and make noise. They also have live shows. Admission was $8 last time I checked so it can be pricey.
Narnia
A very interesting little vintage shop that can be hard to find if you don't know where it is with some great pieces run by a chatty girl on the corner. In the dressing room the sales clerk is starting an very impressive collage. Why she's doing this I have no idea but it's still cool to look at. Great outfits. Not bad prices.
The Guggenheim
The Guggenheim on first look is very impressive. The outside is very huge and appealing. Inside there are only a couple of big rooms that showcase most of the museums famous art. Use the elevator to the top floor, then walk your way downhill back to the lobby to get a lay of the land.
Terrapin Chelsea Art Gallery Limited
Chelsea Galleries carries all ranges and styles of art forms. They cover the scope from classic oil paintings to modern art. It's a great way to spend a lazy weekend afternoon. Just strolling around the art gallery. When giving the place a once over you will discover wonderful works of arts by many unknown artists.
Bodum Incorporated
Walking into this store makes you want to grab everything you can hold run back to your aparment and rearrange all your new items just the way you want to. I love all the modern, shiny funky items they have. Glasses. Salt & pepper shakers. Dishes. Its all fun and creative and how I wish I had a million dollars so I could afford all of it.
Triton Gallery Incorporated
Why a museum would dedicate an entire gallery to nothing but theatrical posters and call it art confounds me but at least it's interesting. They include not only current Broadway, off-Broadway, and West End shows, but film, opera, and PBS productions as well, and an extensive array of rare collectible items from national tours, classic plays and musicals, both hits and flops.
