It's nice going into Michael Puleo's store. He has competitive prices and every now and then throws in a freebie. Another reason I like the place is because there is no pressure to buy a pager or phone and there's no sales person following you around or leaning over your shoulder.
If you like a store with a big selection and lots of equipment to look at on your own, this may not be your place. Michael has to show you everything and sometimes he willl not let you leave without showing you the latest in technology.
PROS: very personal service
CONS: not a big inventory
When you see the name "Marriott" atttached to a hotel business, you know you are getting quality. We own at BeachPlace and it is one of the nicest timeshare properties in the Marriott chain. If there is nothing for sale at this one, there are other properties around the world. Here at this location, you will probably have described to you Ocean Point in Palm Beach.
I like the timeshare concept because you can trade yours through Interval International and get another property to vacation at in another state or country. You are not held down to a certain week every year, and they do have certain properties with "lockouts" or the ability to use only half your unit and save the other part for another time.
The downside of the Marriott timeshare is that you are forced to use the entire week in one place, so if you like to jump around a lot, this may not be for you. Also, Interval International can not guarantee your choice of exchange, and many times you have to go with an alternate plan.
The maintanence is also not cheap, so be prepared to pay about $800 or more a yr. In the end, though, this would be cheaper than if you went to this same hotel without your timeshare or to any other place with this kind of quality.
The best thing is Marriott stands by their product. One year in So. Carolina we were very unhappy with our accommodations and because all their ther places were sold out in the area, they gave us a free week anywhere in the world which we thought was very fair.
Many people do not know this, but you can purchase an "every other year" timeshare for a lot less. They are not going to offer this to you, so you have to bring it up yourself. That is wht we did and we are very happy.
PROS: ability to exchange, quality properties
CONS: stuck for a week in one place, high maintenance costs
I am not just giving Hyacinth this high rating because she is a kind and wonderful person. She deserves it because her work is so inspiring. The colors of the islands jump out at you and you can feel the emotions of her subjects in her large and exciting paintings. They are acrylics that will be the center focus of your room like they are in mine. So if you want to feel the ethnicity of the islands in your home, get a painting from Hyacinth.
I would call or email her to find out where in other parts of FL at various art shows she will be showing. (By the way, her terrific husband, Mike, is helping her in the business, so she should have even a greater selection.)
PROS: Lovely and emotionally satisfyng work
CONS: Wish she lived closer to me!
The Austins have a great family business. I first meet them at the flea market at the Hollywood Dog Track. They are such honest folks and will not steer you wrong. They show up to your house with your order when they say they will. Their specialty is patio furniture and their workmanship is very good and their prices are ery fair. We are completely satisfied!
PROS: Ssatisfied customer
I consider this one of the prettiest stores on Las Olas. They have a beautiful selection of collectibles, glass, and jewelry . There are so many items to look at and they are great for browsing. I have bought several gifts here. Their prices are not terrible either, very competitive. The owners are very nice and acommodating people, willing to do special orders.
PROS: on Las Olas
Dr. Frankel specializes in psychology services that focus on job hunting and self esteem. He is good at exploring ways to improve obtaining employment in your chosen field. He can see things that you would not normally see about yourself and helps to guide you into action to secure a job.
This school is very efficient and the teachers are very knowledgeable. They have 5 locations for your convenience.
They are very up on real estate law and are fully certified to help you earn your own certification.
Steven Bach has been in business for many years. No job is too small or too big for him. He does all exterior building trades and construction. This would be parking lots, handicapped ramps, fencing, concrete, sidewalks and anything on the outside. He does very good work.
PROS: fair competitive prices
CONS: at times, difficult to contact
One of the main reasons I use Gerry for my computer repairs and problems is because he is very hard working. Sometimes it takes him a long time to diagnose the problem, but he never charges for the extra time. In fact, he is very reasonable.
He will come to your house or business, but if it is a serious problem, he will have to bring the coputer to his home which is his office. He is trying to concentrate on bigger accounts now and always does not have time for me, but he makes time.
PROS: a nice guy that gets the job done
CONS: sometimes takes long to fix the problem
Dan is a nice guy and a good financial advisor, but only for people with money. He works for Merrill Lynch, and in the days when I had more money, I used to get much more attention. Now he may just call me once a year. This is not good service. He should just see if I am still alive.
He does respond quickly when I do call and does my transaction in good time. I do not know if I need him and perhaps he doesn't need me anymore.
PROS: personable guy with good intentions
CONS: poor service to people with small accounts
