the harris gallery is a great place to pick up some art for your river oaks mansion. They are one of the greatest sources of high end art specializing in regional artists of note. Staff is always helpful, and will help you find what you're looking for. Nice facility and good location, with fairly easy parking.
This is like a big box hardware store, but inside the loop. Much easier than driving way out. You can set up an account and just pick up your lumber without any hassle. They have everything you could need and the staff is always helpful. You go in and get a slip and then you can back your vehicle into the lumber yard and they'll load you up.
This company serves healthcare facilities - yes it's hospital art, but this is saving us all from the bad hospital art we've all seen in the past. They do art consultation, selecting local artists for wherever their project may be. Then they do the custom framing and send out their crew to do professional installation on site. They work on projects all over the country, and even internationally.
This is a gallery that also does some design consultation. They have local artists, as well as regional and national. Their clients range from large corporations to residential projects on the high end. They do the design consultations as well as the installation part of the project. It's a beautifully designed building with interesting modern landscaping and sculptures out front.
Well, you get what you pay for at Houston Community College. You can get your credits, and some of the professors are better than others. But the smell of urine wafts through some of the campus areas and camping can be very difficult at times. There are a lot of campuses, so you can definitely find one that is convenient to you.
A great gift store and a haven for new ageists and wiccans, and everyone in between. They have books, herbs, lovely semiprecious stones, even warlock robes. Good place to find costumes and accessories for the Rennaissance Fair. Very nice staff, super helpful and sweet, always ready to give advice if you're looking for it, or if you're just curious. New location after much smaller store moved from around the corner on Montrose.
This dermatologist finally diagnosed me correctly after 15 years of trying to find a solution to my skin issues. I had tried 5 other dermatologists, who all misdiagnosed me and provided treatments that unfortunately only made things worse. I wish I had found Dr. Chernosky sooner, it would have saved me a lot of $$$ and time.
Oh Erica, such a den of temptation! This is the hugest collection of costume and semi-precious jewelry in town. Case after case after case of bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, organized by typed of stone or material. The owners are incredibly nice and will look out for special pieces for you if you are after something in particular. The prices are extremely reasonable, and somewhat open for negotiation. Visit often, as the inventory is always changing!
This place is a little sporadic, but reasonably priced. They are very nice folks but sometimes forget some of the grooming instructions, so if you are wanting much more than a basic bath this place may not be for you. I still take my dog though sometimes because she loves to run around loose all day with the other dogs, even though usually she is not very sociable she seems to do great at Gizzies.
