This place is hidden in a strip center and easy to miss, but worth a visit if you're looking for something sparkly and flirty for a Saturday night. They have dresses, skirts, blouses and accessories. Also a couple of home accessories. The guys who own the place and work there are super helpful and willing to heap on the flattery if you're having a hard time making up your mind about that sequined peasant skirt.
I always go here for oil changes because you get a free car wash, and the whole thing is still faster than pretty much any place else for just the oil change. Plus they keep all your records on file, which is convenient for those of us who are too disorganized to do it ourselves. You can get anything from basic wash and vacuum to upholstery laundering and detailing. Quick and reasonably priced, plus free popcorn.
Always delivered hot and fast. They have a great 2 person special that'll save you several bucks. Their spicy stuff is just spicy enough without scalding your tastebuds numb. Definitely get the eggrolls, they're fresh, not mushy. Soups are good too. Not sure if they have an actual storefront location, but I figure it doesn't matter - why go out when you can get it this good at home?
We live right around the corner, so I wish this place was a little more appealing. We keep trying to go, but are never satisfied. Service is sporadic, once we waited so long at the front door before we were acknowledged and seated that we started to think maybe they were closing early. Food, which is Guatamalan/Mexican, is sometimes great, sometimes bland and stale. Same with the margaritas. Nice patio in the back, but wait staff might forget you're back there.
This place is a little scroungy, but it's the perfect walking distance neighborhood bar. They have a few pool tables, darts, tv's, arcade games, live dj's a couple nights a week. The bartenders are friendly, making this a good place to stop in for a mid-week cocktail with the regulars. Excellent people watching on the weekends, they get a lot of foot traffic.
This is a pretty nice Borders, in an upscale strip center. Pretty much like other Borders you've probably been to, but on the clean and friendly end of the spectrum. Frequent buy 3 get the 4th free on oversize paperbacks, and other similar deals. It's worth it to get on their email list, seems like every week or two they are sending 20 or 30% off coupons. Plus you can reserve an item by email and pick it up on the way home from work.
Pretty good place to find discounted name brands, but be ready to dig, dig, dig. Some of the stuff is actually new, and a little overpriced, but it's all mixed in. You can get really lucky and find some high end stuff used that looks like it's never been worn. Also, now they have a good shoe section - all new shoes, who wants shoes with someone else's foot cooties. Also make heat transfer t-shirts, you pick the applique and the shirt and they put them together.
Love Onion Creek. Excellent food - including some of the best veggie selections in town. Their pizzas on ciabatta bread are crave-worthy. They also have a huge range of beers and good coffee and flavored iced teas. Atmosphere is lodge/pub/hipster with a comfortable outdoor deck. Live music/dj's some nights, and on Saturday mornings a farmer's market in the parking lot.
Trendy clothes, shoes, accessories for the young upwardly mobile crowd. Good place to find clothes for going out to the clubs. A little pricey, though, and a couple of things I have purchased here have proved to not be made of the best materials - but maybe that's ok when things are so trendy, since you probably won't be wearing them next season anyway. Can be challenging to find parking in this area.
Affectionately known in the neighborhood as "disco Kroger" this is a good place to check out local color and get your groceries. Some of the checkers are quirky enough to have garnered some local celebrity status. Located near the intersection of Montrose and Westheimer, this is a smallish older Kroger - which actually I prefer because it's much quicker when you don't have to walk a 1/4 mile to get from the bread to the frozen dinners. They've recently remodeled and updated, so it's more modern and easier to get around.
