McMenamins Pubs are the best microbrewery-restaurants in the area! I love their garlic fries, sandwiches and burgers. They aren't a "you been to one, you been to 'em all" type place though. Every restaurant is different and they each have their specialties! Go try one, you'll like it and then try the rest!
This place has great food, but don't expect to dine-in. And be sure to leave a tip! They save money on rent and send it all to Vietnam for charity work. A very admirable endeavor.
PROS: Delicious Vietnamese food in LO
CONS: Very small restaurant, not good for groups
Dr. Hazard at the downtown Portland office is wonderful. I'd never seen a female dentist before and I was surprised they existed! She takes a conservative approach to dental hygiene and even recommended their pediatric dentist in Beaverton for when I start taking my 2 year old to the dentist!
I particularly like the Machaca Taco Salad! Some friends from CA call this authentic Mexican food. I call it filling! Huge portions, tasty salsa bar!
I really loved the Tigard Winco, so when we moved and I found the Clackamas Winco, I was so happy to have another inexpensive grocery store to shop at. After shopping there for 4 months I told my husband that I'm never shopping there again! Their milk is good, lasts a long time and is very inexpensive. I like the bulk spices and pasta, too. But I've found mold on packaged food that I've brought home and rust on canned goods. I've also seen flies in the fresh baked goods! I really don't think paying less is worth it, unless they're going to advertise that they are a "bruised and damaged merchandise store." I'm really just not happy with this Winco. Too bad for them.
PROS: Milk has LONG exp. date
CONS: Lots of "bruised/damaged" merchandise
We just moved into the n'hood and this little market is great! It's your typical corner market with family flair! A nice variety of merchandise and they even give directions!
If you ever get up from your dining room table to get something out of the kitchen, that is what it feels like, eating at Sweet Tomato. Easy & yummy!
PROS: Everything's always fresh
CONS: Go early to avoid the rush
I can't wait to go back and try their dill pickle soup! Everyone I know that's been there just raves about it! And it may be hidden, but it's not small! I was amazed at how roomy the dining area was, with different rooms, so you don't feel like you're in a cafeteria. I love German food, so I'm definately going to make Otto and Anita's a habit!
Did you know that Holt originated international adoption in the US? And their history and experience show it. We just started our second adoption with Holt, and look forward to them guiding us through the wonderful process of adding another child to our family. Give them a call! You won't regret it.
The Monday evening crew is AWESOME! They tell personal stories, engage in sincere conversation, give out REAL freebies, (not just the ones they hand out on trays) and remember you when you walk in. Not just Starbucks, the Monday night crew at Starbucks!
