Hideaway Styling Studios
Most of the stylists here are on time, however some of them to put it delicately are not punctual at all. I've had to wait upwards of 45 minutes after my appointment time. But then again, there are a few stylists who are always on time, and well-liked. It's hit or miss. The equipment and environment are both good, with a large selection of products and hair care items. Prices are also fairly reasonable, so that's also good. Overall though, be careful, and if you get a bad stylist, just switch.
PROS: Good variety of hair products, fairly modern
CONS: You might get a horrible stylist
Florida Wheels Skate Ctr
The rink is definitely aging, and somewhat falling into disrepair, along with attendance dropping significantly. The appeal of roller skating has dropped a lot, and as such the business has dropped. Part of this could be that the rink caters to a client base who's age is more in the under 13 category, and the appeal to older clients is just not there, unless they have kids. The ownership is also quite strict, with what some would call a ridiculous amount of rules. Also, ownership is fairly grouchy and doesn't particularly deal with customers in the most friendly manner at all times. If you want a cheap way to go skating indoor, it's a good option, but it's more of a niche establishment.
PROS: Skating, lights, music
CONS: Snack bar expensive, grouchy management, not the best area of town
Regal Hollywood 20
They upgraded to digital projectors, so now you can watch your favorite movies in crisp, crystal clarity. The difference is huge, especially when watching movies that are special effects heavy. The staff are usually helpful, and customer service readjusted a mischarged ticket very quickly and got us on our way to the movie. The only extremely minor complaint is that if you're tall (6 feet or above), the seats will leave you with a stiff/sore neck after long movies. That's however not any deterrent.
PROS: Digital projection, easy parking, classy feel to the theater
CONS: Tall people may not like the seats
Java Njive
Jave n' Jive used to be the hottest coffee shop in the area when the original owner was still there. It had a hip environment, and was always packed because the drinks were good and Andy Ameres, the owner, interacted with the customers and was just a great guy. There's new ownership and management now however, and they're horrible. They sit outside the whole time talking, and don't treat the customers well. I was kicked out of the place 15 minutes before the posted closing time because they said they wanted to be OUT at 10, not closed at 10. I mentioned their hours said close at 10, and I was actually ignored and they didn't say another word to me until I left. Next time, I was yelled at for having my feet on their couch, when my feet were not on the couch at all. My foot was a good 8 inches away from touching their seat cushions, but I was told to change the way I was sitting. The drinks were good, and may still be, but the service and management make this intolerable. All of their previous customers have left, and the place is deserted because they drove everyone away. Stay away from Java n' Jive.

CONS: Awful service, rude management, horrible environment
Family Christian Book Store
Family Christian bookstores has been in the area for a while, and has a good selection. If you're in the market for Christian books, whether it be lifestyle books, bibles, etc, the variety and overall inventory is quite excellent. The prices on their music however leave much to be desired, especially when the same music can be purchased via online retailer for a lower price. The staff are friendly and helpful however, which does make for a pleasant shopping experience. When you come down to the bottom line, if you want selection and service, this is a great place, but not if you're on a tight budget and want good prices.
PROS: Friendly service, good selection
CONS: Prices are pretty high
