Joe's Service Center used to be part of Sandcastle Motors and Joe was the mechanic; however, when Sandcastle became Rose's Auto Sales, the service center became Joe's. Still the same great service and value as when it was owned by Sandcastle Motors. Joe has worked on cars for 20+ years and is very knowledgeable. Make sure you check out the local coupon booklet for the coupons Joe's Service Center always has in there.
With 95 Lakes in Highlands County, a frequent fisherman (or woman) needs lots of gear and Reds is the place to get it. As a division of The American Fisherman, Reds sells only high quality rods, reels, tackle and miscellaneous accessories. Reds sells custom rods built by master rod builder D.O. Norton, G Loomis, St. Croix and SAGE. They also sell custom tackle. While at Reds, you can find out about local fishing guides Don Norton, Nick DeSanta and Dalton Hundhausen. If you're just looking for worms or crickets, you can find them at Reds as well.
I love to send cards - cards for all occassions and sometimes for no occassion at all. This can get expensive. The Card Shoppe sells greeting cards at a price of 2/$1, which is hard to beat. Compared to Hallmark, though, they are only mediocre quality. They claim to have the largest selection in the county, although I'm not sure about that. The Card Shoppe also has some chintzy little gift items. Surprisingly for a card shop, they also sell quite a few offbeat health care items.
Owned by Grandpa Jim and Granny Helen Todd, Granny's Home Furnishings is a surprisingly good well-priced store. They say they have "over 80,000 items available" and will find anything you don't already see for sale. They sell bedroom, dining room and living room furniture; recliners; trunks; entertainment centers; wicker and rattan. They also sell consignments when they have them. They have a wonderful assortment of lamps which I haven't seen anywhere else. These include lighthouse, palm tree, dolphin, shell, parrot, sea turtle and heron designs - all very appropriate for Florida. Be sure to check their website and the America's Favorite Coupon booklet if you want to save money.
JR's Wireless World is in the "For Your Home" Shopping Plaza across from Sweetie Pye's restaurant. I didn't even know such a plaza existed. JR's claims to have the largest selection in Highlands County. Check the local coupon booklet to save money at JR's Wireless World.

Steve & Company carries clothing for Florida's casual lifestyle. This store carries Cotton Seed USA and Fresh Produce Sportswear - both very comfortable lines of clothing - as well as Brighton accessories. Ray and Rhonda Barnes have done a fabulous job of helping to revitalize the downtown area.
Linda's Used Books is located just off the Circle in downtown Sebring. I daresay this shop has thousands of volumes of used books. Many of the books are ex-library hardcover books in good reading condition. Linda's specialize in children's books. Make sure you check out their website. She has hundreds, if not thousands, of books listed here, too. The website includes a page for Bargain Books - all priced at $1.00 or less.
