Whole Foods

Whole Foods have helped change the way I eat and my overall health. The selection of food, drinks and health items are terrific! The staff is usually very helpful in answering questions and talking with you. I'm so glad Whole Foods are here in Kansas City/Overland Park!!

Sushi Gin

I've only been for lunch but it was good - including the $1 sushi choices. The staff was not hurried - but we were so that was a drawback. Everyone in our party enjoy the dishes they ordered. Very good over all experience.

Black Dog Coffeehouse

The coffee is good, spacious seating and a bright, open enviroment. Staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoy stopping in with friends to chat, have a cup of java and maybe a slice of cake - YUM!

Children's Place

This is located in the Great Mall in Olathe KS. I usually stop in this store each time I go to the mall. Several times through out the year they have seasonal clearance sales that you can't beat! Prices during the rest of the year are mixed. Some items are the same as you'd find in the regular store at the regular price, but the some are discounted. The staff is friendly and helpful. Worth a trip if you have kids!

Great Mall Of The Great Plains

It has some good stores and usually some great deals but it has many vacant spots. It's not crowded unless you go over the winter holiday season so that is a plus. I'd tell you to go if you like shopping and walking and are in Johnson County. I wouldn't want to drive more than 20-30 minutes to get there.

Overland Park Arboretum

This place has been kept a secret but I'm so glad my family finally learned about it!
It's located in southern Overland Park near 179th & Antioch. It remains free and has been there for 10+ years. It has acres of beautiful landscape to explore and many trials that are wide and again, great for the entire family - even Rover!
If you like nature and the outdoors, you won't be dissapointed!

The Natural Newborn

I've used her products for almost 2 years now and will keep returning as a customer. My favorite line when my baby was in diapers was her Diaper Defense. I still use the diaper rash cream on our bug bites and little sores instead of antibiotic cream. It works wonders - seriously! Her spray was a cure to mysterious diaper rash and is also a good anti-itch spray.
I've also used the lip balm, vapor rub and homemade soaps. Highly recommend her products and she has great customer service as well.

Once Upon A Child

I used to patronize this business but I will not to so again anytime soon. I still find myself tempted but I am reminded by my many previous bad experiences.
The staff seems put-out and bothered by the fact that yet again, another customer has walked in and interrupted them. When they are asked questions I get and overhear others ask question, we are given quirky and snippy answers. The female manager is the ring leader and sets the worst example for her staff to follow. It is appalling how bad the customer service is here.

PROS: Nice selection of children's clothing and toys
CONS: Horrible customer service and somewhat overpriced merchandise

Long Horn Steakhouse

I have yet to have an unpleasant experience here. The food is outstanding - steaks are great! Service is top-notch and the atmosphere is comfortable, airy and fun. On my first visit I noticed how much space there was between tables - plenty of room to move around and you're not bumping chairs with the table next to you. The food is excellent and the staff sees to it that you're well taken care of. The kids enjoy the food too! Good family environment.

Mom's Kitchen

I really want to like Moms Kitchen - with a name like that you just have to like it, right? Wrong. It's smokey as soon as you walk in the door. The staff walks past you several times before they acknowledge you. In order to eat in non-smoking you have to walk through smoking. The food is okay, typical home-cooking from a little joint. The staff seems hurried and insincere and the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. The atmosphere could actually add charm to the place if the staff and food were better but it just gives me another reason not to go there.

PROS: Okay food, typical home cooking dishes
CONS: Staff isn't friendly, place doesn't "feel" clean, smokey
