Did ya ever notice how sometimes dudes who work in record stores are, well, arrogant know it alls? (Sorry, but we've all been there). Anyway, you don't get that here. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, not cocky. And they don't follow you through the aisles or stalk you for a sale. You can spend some time checking out their solid selection of used CDs, videos and collectibles. You will be impressed with what you can find here. Add to your music or movie collection today!
I have a real soft spot for toy stores. No matter how old I am, I am always looking for new and interesting things. I was intrigued by this classic and charming store. Lots to choose from with some items you just can't find at Target or Wal Mart. Support the little guy shops and pick up a new teddy bear for your child...or yourself!
I used to wait at the bus stop, right outside their store. That was a good thing (for them and me). I saw their grand opening and from that point, I was hooked. They are truly a neighborhood feel kind of store. Down to earth, nice and helpful. They have some gorgeous floral arrangements and some of the cutest stuffed animals sitting in that window. I'm tempted to spend more each time I go!
I always smile when I think of this store, because I flash (for some reason) to Woodstock. (No, I wasn't there!) Cool imagary. I am intrigued by what they sell here, which includes some decent used and retro clothes for a very low price, and some other items like hats or scarves. It's kind of a funky looking area around here (under the train tracks) which adds to the vibe.
I love this store. I've been going here for so many years, and I am glad to see they survived. Maybe it has to do with their great location. Anyway, the people who work here have always been very helpful and friendly toward me, never an attitude. The selection is good on CDs and DVDs. They will special order for you.
PROS: Nice people, great selection
This is about the current show, Respect: The Musical. I was looking for someplace fun to take my mom for mama's day. After perusing through the paper, I noticed an ad for a play called Respect, a Woman's Musical Journey that was playing at this theater. I was hooked when I heard it was a show featuring tunes from all these great female performers. Everyone from Aretha, Madonna, Patsy Cline, Dusty Springfield - you name 'em. The theater is intimate with every seat being amaziing! The singers were a joy to watch. I loved this show. Go, and take your mama, girlfriends, and anyone that loves and appreciates great music and talent.
I went here for the first time because I had a two for one coupon. Now I am a customer for life! Their paninis are fantastic. I had the veggine one, with this yummy peso mayo on the side. They have great sandwiches, salads, tempting desserts and fruit smoothies. It's packed at lunch time during the week, but then a ghost town at nights and on the weekends. (A hint for crowd a phobs). I highly recommend you pay them a visit.
I don't know, maybe it's me. They are a very nice restaurant and a sentimental fave with Chicagoans because of the late, great Harry Caray. But this place did not really stand out for me. The appetizers and most dinner items seemed overpriced, and the food was good, not great. However the ambience and the excellent staff are something to rave about.
What a beautiful store with high quality stationery, gift items and more. They do engraving and other services as well. Nice people work here and they have a loyal customer base. My relatives used them a couple times when they wanted to get some great looking party invitations done. They can turn things around pretty quickly and the prices are reasonable.
I can literally walk to this one. This salon is pretty new to the area and they are most welcome! Professional, trendy and full service. Hair, nails, facials and more. They are located in a strip mall so parking is not a problem. The prices are good and they do take most major credit cards.
