What a great time I had on this boat! It has a very down to earth feel to it. Conveniently located at Navy Pier, they offer lunch and dinner cruises. I went twice and had a blast. They have good food, a fun and friendly staff, good service and they take you around the gorgeous lakefront with some of the best scenery around. I highly recommend them for a special occasion or just to treat yourself - it's worth it.
PROS: Good food, fun and down to earth
IWhether you are a Tim Taylor toolman type, or a person that barely knows a hammer from a nail, you will find everything you need right here. You will be impressed with the amount of items sold here. Even if you think you don't need it, you do. And it's sold at Crafty Beaver! I think the staff at the Central Avenue location ROCK! They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Yes, it is filled with more tourists than you would ever want to see in your life! (At least for me). But I LOVE Navy Pier. This is one place you have to see. But if you're like me and hate crowds, do not go in the summertime except on a week day or late night. I love the carousel, garden, boat rides and the beautiful ballroom and Imax Theater. If you're smart, you can have a great day and still keep the price down. There is so much to do here, but go at an off time, bring your own goodies, buy a pop or snack, and stoll for hours, taking in the gorgeous surroundings.
I LOVE this place. It's such a blast - even if your kid days are long gone! What is so cool is the glow in the dark putting range. Actually, the whole place is glow in the dark. The 18 holes are filled with awesome looking design work. They did such a good job here. There is a small snack area and a lot of video games where you trade in tickets for prizes. Kids will enjoy this place, and obviously, so will the adults. The staff was really nice and friendly.
PROS: Cool glow in the dark putting range!
This is a great looking mall, with a large selection of retail shops and a decent food court. They keep updating it and do a nice job keeping it clean. I enjoy browsing through the stores and seeing all the different shops. They have Carson's, Kohls, Target, and a lot of the basic shoes stores and other miscellaneous items. The problem here, as with nearly every mall, the punks that hang out. They have little or no control over them and they are an intimidating and annoying presence. The security guards are often kids themselves, so they are no threat to these brats that hang out. I would avoid going here on the weekend because it gets insane. But you will have a nice time strolling on a Tuesday or Wednesday and especially when school is in session!
PROS: Great stores, clean, convenient location
CONS: The punks
Very rarely do I diss a company. The truth has to be told about this place. They talk a good game, they make a lot of promises, but for me, and several other people I know, they never deliver. If you are a creative person, you are better off getting your own jobs. The people I had to deal with were snotty and unpleasant and never helped me get one good job, despite having years of experience, and great skills. They blow off phone calls and emails. Maybe they work for some people, and that's great - but they are definitely not for most people.
CONS: Can't back up any promises
In a world filled with so many people you cannot trust who are out for themselves, St. Vincent DePaul is a trusted friend that actually walks the walk. They don't preach - they live it. When I needed help, they welcomed me with open arms, not judgment. They are truly some of the most loving and giving people. (A special note to Nancy - she is a wonderful blessing in my life). I am grateful to this group of caring people that truly represent Christ in a positive way.
This facility in Norridge is one of the best in the state. They are warm, kind and have deep passion and faith. You will not be turned off by a too pushy attitude. They just open their arms to you, help you, and will be there with words of encouragement and support. I strongly suggest visiting their special services throughout the year. Your spirit will be renewed and refreshed. Good people with a mission to spead the Gospel.
PROS: Wonderful people of faith
Just the mention of a hospital or doctor sends chills down my spine. I still feel like a kid who needed the shot and my mom had to drag me kicking and screaming. But now, I have to give this facility their due. They are one of the best hospitals in the country. They took wonderful care of my mom. It was touch and go for a while with her, but their staff helped put her back on the road to healing. They are smart, kind, patient and seem to really care about their patients. They are truly the best.
Yes, we all know the inside jokes about lawyers. And I myself have engaged in such mockery once or twice as well. But when it comes down to it, this is one guy I can highly recommend. If you need a great real estate attorney, or someone to handle your estate or will, contact Daniel Levy. He is very smart, trustworthy and a nice guy too.
PROS: Smart, honest, nice guy
