The time and temperature number of Jefferson Country Memorial hospital is great. They give you a bit of info about going-on's at the hospital, the current time, the current temperature and the weather for the next day. It's fast and convienent. If you're a resident of Jefferson County or a traveller passing through, this is a great number to call to see how the weather will be for your day.
I had a cukoo clock that my father bought me years ago on a trip to Texas that has stopped chiming and couldn't keep the right time. I took it into Father time and a week later, my clock was as good as new. They even dusted it off while it was there. I was very happy with the service and would take anything there for repair.
You can get any new gun here for $25 over their price, and they will show you their purchase order. They have a nice selection of jewelry. I bought a chainsaw here a few years ago that quit working after about 2 weeks, and they wouldn't do anything about it. I wouldn't recommend them for small engines because of that.
Well, the chamber of commerce in Bonne Terre isn't a pawnbroker. The chamber of Bonne Terre is a hateful organization that won't let you join if they don't like you. We had a business in Bonne Terre, and because my husband had personal issues with one of the ladies on the board, they wouldn't let us join. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Scott at AB Pawn is a nice enough guy; although he and my husand don't personally get along. He's always been nice to me and has given me the right amount on the few items I've taken in. He's right on main street, and parking is sometimes hard to find as Festus downtown is always congested; espeically this time of year. Worth a trip to check out what he has for sale.
I have been doing business with Carol for over 6 years. She always does a good job on anything I give her. She is a good Christian lady and usually has a smile for all her cusomters. She carries a nice selection of estate jewelry as well and new and custom pieces.
I love the deli at the Market Place. They have the best meats and cheeses around, and they always have alot of pre-packaged foods that are easy to throw in the microwave for a quick lunch. They offer free coffee while you shop, which makes it nice on a cold day like today. The prices are a little higher than the bigger chains such as Wal mart, but the quality of meats and produce is much better. I also love their 2/$5 filets.
When I lived in Waterloo, I bought alot of my meat here. It's good quality meat, and they have a decent selection of other grocery items such as chips, sodas and produce. The only thing I didn't like about this store is that they won't accept people's Link cards. It's also hard to try to make a left out of the parking lot, you usually have to make a right and circle back around. Good place to go if you want to pay cash or charge a good filet.
Shephard's is a nice little grocery store to stop in on your way home from work to grab a soda or snack. The shelves are always clean and well organized and the restrooms are nice as well. The lady that is usually there during the evenings is very friendly and helpful. It's easy to get to with two driveways at the V.
Sam A Baker is a wonderful campground. The one and only problem is that they are alway so full on all the holidays. The camping lots are always full and running over. There are lots of friendly staff here, and the ladies in the welcome center surely make you feel welcome and appreciated. Neat place to visit, be sure to check out the snakes in the welcome center as well, yes they are in cages!
PROS: Great place, neat and clean showers/restrooms
CONS: Always packed out on holidays
