Burt's Farm is a autumn tradition for our family. We love the drive and experience. When you get there, grab a whellbarrow and start picking pumpkins! There are ones as small as your hand and as big as you can imagine. It is so much fun to watch the kids eyes get huge as they survey the pumpkinpalooza. The shop has fantastic homemade goods and a variety of items to purchase and try. Also, take the hayride!
The owner of this business is the operator and has been in business for a very long time. He is very dedicated to maintaining his reputation in business. His prices are extremely compettitve and works with the homeowners to receive a desired outcome for everyone. I like to use small businesses like this because you get the personal service that is so lacking in today's society.
McKinney Campground is one of the campgrounds of the Army Corps of Engineers for Lake Allatoona here in Georgia. The sites are clean and paved over so not necessarily for those roughing it. I love it! All have water and electric hook-ups and the restrooms are very clean and well-kept. The staff is very helpful.
This has been a long standing tradition in our family because the Center for Puppetry Arts is such a wonderful experience. The goals of the programs are not only entertainment but education of the arts for their audience. Not only are there amazing family programs but educational puppetry programs, and grown-up programs too! The prices are great and we recommend it to everyone.
Maybe I wasn't in the mood for the day we spent there, but I was definitely not impressed with noise or confusion that takes place in this building. The exhibits are great but unless your kids are real aggressive, they will get run over by more aggressive or older kids. I could not relax enough to enjoy our time there and the kids were like deer in headlights. It is also fairly expensive. Parking was typical Atlanta - terrible. Staff not so helpful.
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are an oasis in the city of Atlanta. The gardens are beautiful and you can feel comfortable bringing the kids and letting them run and take in the beauty around them. In fact, the new locomotion exhibit is geared right towards my little guys. The trains run thorughout the garden and they were absolutely fascinated by them. Priced reasonably for a family day.
North Metro Tech is where my husband earned many IT certifications for nothing due to the benefits of the Hope Scholarships. The teachers are very informed and supportive and the administration was helpful throughout all the paperwork. We would recommend there programs highly. The campus is very convenient right off of Interstate 75 and 2 minutes form our house.
AFter a small fender bender last week, I went in for a quote. Never having been there before, I thought I would give them a try. Never again! For $100 worth of parts, the quote for labor was $1000. Please, I was not born yesterday. The estimator treated me like I was a naive woman and I did not appreciate his condescending attitude.
Red Top Mountain just happens to be a few miles from my home and we are so lucky. It is great for an all day outing or for an evening drive to deer watch. The lodge and restaurant need a little TLC but we enjoy a picnic and a dip in the lake better anyway. They have fun seasonal activities also. The campgrounds are great.
Stone Mountain can etiher be a very pricey day or a cheap way to spend an afternoon. The company that took over a few years ago installed "Crossroads and the Great Barn" - shopping and amusement area - a bit pricey. Or you can grab a box of chicken and relax on the lawn and spend quality time watching the lasershow in the evening.
