I've driven by this salon many times and decided to make an appointment one day to see how it is. They have ample parking on the side of the building in a small lot. My visit was a few weeks ago and they were in the process of renovating the space that they were in. I was immediately greeted upon entering and was promptly met by my stylist. I had a haircut and some waxing services done. The space that they are in is a little small--but because if the renovation it looks like it definitely opened it up a bit. I was very satisfied with my shampoo and haircut. I also had my eyebrows waxed and those came out great. Thr price was very reasonable and seemed to be considerably less than the larger salon spas. I would recommend this place for the prices and the very cozy hometown kind of feel that is has.
PROS: Reasonable pricing & cozy atmosphere
CONS: Renovation at the time--should be better when its done.
I recently visited this location on a Saturday afternoon. They were quite busy and seemed to almost be out of everything--which is hopefully a sign that they are good. I was greeted pleasantly upon entering. For what was left there still seemed to be a nice selection of baked goods. There were the usual donuts, cookies, and danishes, with a few not so usual things thrown in--my new personal favorite is a french silk whipped cream covered concoction in a waffle cone type of bowl --it was exquisite--wasn't too sweet and definitely filling. Prices were average to good. This is a family owned business and they have another location in Algonquin. You can't really go wrong on sweets--I would definitely go back.
This is a nice little place we like to visit for noodle dishes if we can't make it down to chinatown. They have a nice friendly staff, very attentive. A few bubble tea blended drinks are on the menu and they aren't too bad. Prices are cheap and food is cooked very quickly. Great for take out too!
We always go here for good chinese food in the area. The staff is always very polite and attentive. Portions are good and prices are right. Also very good for take out. I love the mapo tofu--it's cute they way they serve it on a small metal wok ontop of a little burner at your table. This place always seems to be packed--so they are definitely doing something right.
This is a fun place with big black leather executive chairs and tables. Billed as a place to eat, drink, anc catch a movie. They have different specials during the week for bucket of beers and mixed drinks. Sometimes if you go on a really packed night it can be a little distracting if you really want to watch a movie because there are servers running up and down the aisles, people looking at menus ordering bar drinks and food--in addition because of that it isn't completely dark either--so if you want some extras other than just watching the movie this place is great----if you are just going to see the movie--this is not the best place for that.
This place is so great they have freshly made donuts and they are open 24 hours. They are definitely better than the donut chain stores out there. They have a cake like consistency and offer many different flavors. They have random coupons in mailers every now and then and that makes the price very good. They have a big parking lot so this is also a nice place to gather for some hot chocolate with a group of friends.
We have been ordering from this place for a few years now and its definitely better than all of those other chain pizzas. This place is family owned and operated. They have a lot of specials and coupons available in the area and offer a wide selection of food items other than pizza and pasta. They have homemade italian ice and that is highly recommended too.
This place hasn't been open too long in the burbs, it is similar to the location's in Chicago. They are very good and the service is quick and polite. I love their desserts and think that they are reasonably priced. Ample parking. Food is fresh and the portions are just right.
This is located in the woodfield mall next to Nordstrom. There is usual no wait and no appointment necessary. They have friendly staff and they do an adequate job for the price. They have specials for students which is nice. They seem to be very clean. Hours are the same as the mall so I think that is nice because a lot of other places tend to close early.
They have a good variety of products available to try--if you want to try before you buy--I would definitely recommend this place--the store is a little on the small side--but comfortable enough if that's all you were going to do. Sale staff are not too helpful, seems like they are just their to sell--so its good if you are able to do some research before hand. Understandably though since there are so many beauty products out there.
