Duquesne Incline
The Incline is such a special part of Pittsburgh and is rightly merged with the identity of the City. The Incline has been around for so long. The fabulous journey takes you from top to bottom (or bottom to top) of the great hillside overlooking the city. The views from the top are wonderful (and there are also some wonderful restaurants at the top of the hill -- dinner and an incline ride make a great date!) and the ride itself is magical to young and old. Some of my earliest memories of the city are taking this fabulous ride. It is something that still excites me to do. Every native and visitor should be sure to visit this wonderful attraction.
National Aviary
The Pittsburgh Aviary is one of the treasures of the city. I remember loving going here as a child, and now it is a place that my own children love to visit. There are simply tons and tons of different types of birds. Smaller children will enjoy just looking and exploring, while older visitors can have a great educational opportunity to learn about different species.
Wildwood Highlands North Park
Wildwood Highlands is such a fun place for children and families to visit. This is one of our children's favorite spots! They offer lots of fun things to do, including miniature golf, go carts, and a multitude of games and play areas. It is a place that offers year round fun as there are both inside and outside recreation areas. Prices can get up there, especially when bringing a couple of children, but coupons and discounts are often available. It is a wonderful outing sure to bring a smile to your child's face!
Center For Young Musicians
The Center for Young Musicians is a fine school for budding musicians. They offer a wide range of classes and lessons for students training with many different instruments. Students have the opportunity to work within a group or to work one on one with an instructor. All levels of students will find a place to fit in here. The prices are quite reasonable and students learn a sense of fun while growing in talent.
John Casablancas Modeling
The famous John Casablancas name brings prestige to this modeling center. Like many modeling "training" establishments, one should go in informed and educated. This is a great place for girls to learn confidence, how to carry themselves well and other tips like good makeup application. People going in hoping for a career need to remember that jobs coming from such a school are often few and far between unless the student is that needle in the haystack. There are many places to incur a great deal of charges, from extra classes to required pictures. This is a good place in that they have a reputation to stand on, and it is well organized. People going in without raised expectations will likely be satisfied so long as ongoing expenditures do not bother them.
Sewickley Cooking Studio
What a gem of a place right in the heart of Sewickley. Sewickley Cooking Studio offers a variety of classes and opportunities to explore the culinary world! Prices can be a bit high -- but in line with many things Sewickley. And, while the price might be above average, it is well worth it when you cvonsider both the quality of the studio and the fun that is inherent in all that they do here. This is always a favorite place for me to visit. This is a wonderful business that I encourage anyone interested in cooking to explore. Beginners to advanced cooks will all find something for them!
L.Thomas Auto Body
L.Thomas Auto Body works hard to meet the needs of their customers. They are an extremely reliable tow company that does what they promise, when they promise. Their prices are fair, and they go the extra mile to treat your car with care and to make sure it is safe and protected. I have found them to be quite accomodating. Many friends and family have also raved about the work they do on repairing scrapes and scratches oon cars. I have never experienced -- or even heard -- a bad thing about them!
Pittsburgh Tire Service, Inc
I cannot say enough about this business. Their prices are wonderful, their staff helpful and professional and their work top rate. The tires that my car needed were not something most places had on hand. Pittsburgh Tire Service went out of their way to get what I needed quickly and made sure that I was happy. I like that they lay out exactly what they are doing and why. It also became easy for me to quickly trust them as they always gave me different options from which to choose that provided me different price points. This is a shop to trust.
Adorn
So many times you use a carpet cleaner and feel okay with it when they first leave only to see the spots quickly reappear. This was not the case with this company. They do an excellent job of removing spots and stains so that they stay gone. I have found them to be reliable and dependable. Their prices are extremely competitive and there never seemed to be a long wait to schedule an appointment. The staff is professional and takes pride in their work.
Pine Automotive Specialists
Pine Automotive Specialists came to my rescue while I was in from out of town to visit my family. Not only did they take care of some emergency needs on my car, but were able to expedite delivery of a hard to aquire part so that I would be able to get back home on time. They staff is extremely helpful and accomadating, and you quickly sense that this is a business of honesty and integrity. Their prices are fair and their work quality.
