This small, but very full scrap book store in Arvada, should satisfy all your scrap booking needs. They even offer classes in the back. Prices are quite expensive, but they have a wide-variety of materials. Parking is readily available.
PROS: Satisfies all your scrap booking needs
Mrs. B's Baskets is a gift shop that specializes in making personalized gift baskets. You can choose from their gifts or bring in your own items for them to make into a personalized basket. The staff is very friendly. Parking is fairly easy.
PROS: Unique personalized gifts
Mataaz Fez is a true Moroccan restaurant--one sits on the floor, eats with his hands, and there is belly dancing. Prices are decent for a very large five course meal, including tea served with a flair at the end. Prices are about $20-$30 a person, but you get a ton of food. The restaurant is looking a little run down, but the unique atmosphere makes you forget that for the most part.
PROS: Delicious food, served in a unique atmosphere, huge portions
CONS: A little run down
D'Deli is a little hole in the wall sandwich place on Golden's main street. The sandwiches are really good--I especially recommend the chicken salad. I've heard the sandwiches and soups are excellent too, but have not tried them. The prices are a little high, but the quality is good--very fresh and made to order. The staff is friendly. There is no parking lot, but you can usually find a spot near by.
PROS: High quality, fresh sandwiches
CONS: A little pricey
The Golden Lunch Box is a small establishment that specializes in "lunch boxes," a sack lunch that includes your choice of sandwich, chips, and a side salad (usually pasta salad). The sandwiches are good, the staff is extremely friendly, and the prices are great. Lunch boxes average $5 to $6. There is a small eating area, but I usually get mine to go and take it to nearby Clear Creek to eat on the river banks. Heaven!
PROS: Cheap, yummy lunches
Sushi Den is a bustling, hip restaurant. Reservations are recommended or be prepared for a wait. It is a bit noisy. The food is absolutely excellent--it is by far the best sushi I have had in the Denver area. Free valet parking is available.
PROS: Absolutely world class sushi
CONS: Busy, noisy
I consider myself a bit of a connoiseur for Middle Eastern food--having come from the Detroit area, where Middle Eastern restaurants are as ubiquitous as Mexican ones are in Denver. Since moving to Denver, I have not found a Middle Eastern restaurant that lived quite up to my expectations, until now. Unbelievable that I found one tucked out of the way in the suburbs! The food is just absolutely delicious. I have tried numerous dishes, and they all have been wonerful. Prices are good; service is fast; parking is ample.
PROS: Delicious food, fast service
CONS: A bit out of the way, but worth it
Mezcal is a "hip" Mexican restaurant; the decoration is unique and fun. It is a tequila bar specializing in 100s of tequilas and the margaritas, mojitos, and other drinks are delicious. The food seems to be fairly authentic Mexican, don't expect the usual Americanized chimichangas here. The staff are hip, fun, and friendly. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but that's because it's bustling. Children are okay here too--they even have a children's menu and crayons, etc. for them. Parking can be difficult--you need to find a space on Colfax or a side street.
PROS: Delicious food, tequilas, margaritas in a hip, friendly atmosphere
CONS: Difficult parking; a bit noisy
Las Margaritas has decent Mexican food for it's dinner service and the margaritas aren't bad (although certainly not the best in town). But the Sunday Brunch is absolutely horrible. The food was some of the worst "cafeteria style" Mexican food that I've ever had. Parking is very difficult. There is not lot, so you need to try to find parking on 17th or a side street.
PROS: Decent dinner service, margaritas
CONS: Terrible food at Sunday brunch, difficult parking
This skin care studio is a bit "off the beaten path," but it's worth the trip. There prices are a bit high, but seem competitive with salons and spas. They are unique in that they focus on skin care and don't include hair care, etc. The aesthetician spends lots of time with you--my last facial took over an hour and a half! It was a very relaxing treatment and was great for my problem skin.
PROS: Great skin care, facials, etc.
CONS: Off the beaten path
