The District at Green Valley Ranch
With gas prices as they are, getting away from it all has become restrictive.
Just a few miles from the Strip is an enchanting place called The District at Green Valley Ranch.
Modeled after a village, you can treat yourself to seafood, bbq, mexican, ice cream, hotdogs... whatever your budget.
Shopping is a wonderfulm no crows, no rush experience but oh, those summer nights (Fridays and Saturdays) bring FREE outdoor concerts with varied entertainers and music,
Did I mention the concerts are FREE?
Bring your pooch on a leash they're welcomed here, retailers even have water bowls outside for them.
If gas is no longer affording you little trips like this one, you can live there! Lofts over the shops are selling quickly.
PROS: Concerts, Wonderful Shopping, assorted dining opportunities .
CONS:
Lucilles Smokehouse Bbq
Located in the District, you cannot miss the aroma's of smoked meats coming from Lucille's.
Where else in las Vegas can you find fresh smoked meats?
The sirloin steak salad is a wonderful summer dinner.
Exceptional customer service. You'll never hear 'sorry that's not my station". Fresh brewed iced tea served in mason jars just like home, fresh biscuits served with apple butter.
Weekends you can listen to live blues.
Indoor and outdoor dining.
You can't eat there just once!
PROS: Generous portions, to go orders, exceptional customer service

Round Table Pizza
I phoned this Round Table to have dinner delivered at approximately 5:30 p.m.
After taking my order the young lady informed me she couldn't place my order becasue their delivery drivers don't come in until 6 p,m,
I asked if she could start the order and send it out when the delivery person arrives and she said 'No, you'll have to call back to make sure we have a driver tonight".

CONS: Dining area is never clean, delivery is iffy.
Shadow Hills Baptist Church
Bible teaching church with something for everyone! Infants to seniors. Top notch children, youth and High School ministries. Bible studies for couples, singles. Servie times convenient for everyone's schedules. Saturday night and 3 on Sunday mornings. Inspirational worship music. First Tuesday worship service for the young and young at heart.
This church is active in the community. Supporting Shade Tree, providing underprivilaged youth with school supplies.
This is the church you've been looking for!!

Nothing Bundt Cakes
I enjoy desserts.
Bundt Cakes are finally getting the recognition they deserve,
But $30.00 for a bundt cake?
Yes they're tasty but come on... A cake mix, a package of instant pudding mix, a couple of eggs and a little milk and oil and youve made it at home! for 1/3 the price!!
PROS: No one wants to bake a cake when it's 110 outside
CONS: Who can afford these prices??
Carrabba's Italian Grill
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food.
My favorite is the Insalata Johnny Rocco. A wonderful salad of mixed field greens, grilled shrimp, scallops, ricotta cheese, olives tossrd in a vinaigrette dressing. I can never finsih the salad, if I did there would be no room for the wonderful desserts!! My fave? Desserta Rosa! A deliciously moist vanilla cake with cream, strawberries, banana's and pineapple.
Affordable. Kids menu. Italian lessons in the restrooms.
A delicious, fun night out.
