If you have a teen or are a teen looking for something to do, go to the YWCA! This is a great organization for connecting to the community, working with little kids, and learning how to be a strong, confident young woman. There are computer classes, fun field trips, and a few job opportunities, all with a youth focus.
The live music in the back room makes the Burren awesome for starting off a fun night. The authentic Irish servers and their cute accents add to the overall feel of an Irish pub experience. Good ales, good food. Gets a little crowded on the week-ends so get there early.
Joshua tree is a great place to get together to watch some sports game or something. If you're not into this scene, coming in a for a quick drink is ok too. The place has good ambiance and the food is good. The selections range from standard all american food to some specialized choices.
The fixed price may scare some people off, but I encourage people to try this place. The food is a good combination of local, seasonal produce and culinary cuisine. Try the fish or pork and also you must try both the desserts! Take a date here and you're sure to score.
Not only is the music bumpin' at the upstairs or downstairs, but the food is slammin'. I have tried some really spicy dishes and some cool, soothing yougurt based snacks here. Check this place out on certain nights for a special belly dancing performance!
Yet again I was not disappointed by going to see a show at TTs. The place is small enough for an intimate show, but not too small to be jammed packed awful. There are pool tables and some sit down tables for those who need to get away from the music for a moment. The service is good and there's a fine selection of beers on tap. Good prices too!
For the secret kid in all of us, comicazi is a treasure trove of fun. I could find my favorite comic book and get some action figures all in one stop shopping. The service was friendly and knowledgable.
Starbucks knows how to make good coffee. And when they whip out their special seasonal drinks, watch out world cause they will rock your socks off! My personal favorite is the Gingerbread Latte. Yum! Starbucks has in and outdoor sitting areas, so there's lots of room for talking, reading, and working. If only they could lower their prices just a smidge!
The coffee here is SLAMMIN'. I got an iced mocha and it was soooo good. The Some Day cafe has a really creative vibe to it. I feel like people could be settin up painting, and writing, and some spoken word poetry sessions. The people here are regulars and all seem to know each other. Keep your eyes open for the coffee shop yogi.
The food here was dee-lish. There are wraps, sandwiches, and lots of lite lunchy type foods. I had a veggie wrap with an Oddawalla smoothie and felt so healthy and good when finished. The atmosphere is so relaxing and chill, good for studying, writing, chatting, or just hanging out idly talking with some friends. There is some cool ass art on the walls and the servers are funky and witty. A friend and I played Magic for about two hours without a funny face or disdainful word from anyone.
