I went to this IHOP because it was one of the few breakfast places I could find in the area. Finding parking was a hassle as it was busy in the area. There are no refills on the drinks except for water which is pretty outrageous since they cost over $2 each and they weren't very big. The orange juice was warm. The food took a while to get and then it was cold. The service wasn't very friendly. I will think twice before going to an IHOP again.
I got a room at the Best Western via Priceline for less than $50 dollars a night. I guess it was only booked for one person so when I showed up with my two daughters, the general manager who was checking us in flipped out. She was like," It says only one person so you only get one bed." in a very abrupt, rude manner.
Then she was like "Are you parking a car here?" I was like "Well yeah, I brought one........????"
Then she started asking me if I was going to use the phone. By that point I just told her no, that I would use my cell phone for all outgoing calls.
She continued rambling on by telling me that the room had a VCR in it and there was a cabinet full of videos in the lobby, but we could only have 2 at a time. Then she went on about breakfast being from 6 to 9.
By that point I just wanted to check out. This was the General Manager being extremely rude to her customers.
We went up to our room and decided that we would stay despite her bad attitude. The room was sufficient and better than I thought it would be. The only problem is that the window is paper thin and you could hear cars going by all night. Also there was no comfort zone with the air. It was either extremely cold or extremely warm.
There is free DSL internet but beware, if you borrow the cord from the front desk, be sure to return it or they will charge you $5! Sense the money hungry people who own this place......
The elevator has a license which expired in October 2003. Maybe the city needs to know about this. It is August 2005 now.
The maid came to clean our room one day and she started talking to us in Spanish. I don't think we look Spanish and we aren't about to start speaking it anytime soon.... guess they hire people who can't speak English to rip them off in their paycheck.
I am checking out early today and I hope she doesn't go crazy about that either. I will be sure to let all of Best Western know about this place.
PROS: free food, free internet, cheap price on priceline
CONS: bad service, maids who don't speak english, paper thin windows
I went to this McDonalds with my 3 kids while traveling on the 99. The bathrooms were disgusting and there were flies. The food was typical McDonalds but the prices were higher. The service was average. I guess a McDonalds is a McDonalds. You only go there for the food. I would go to a different McDonalds if I am in the area again.
I went to this Chilis on a Monday night with my 3 kids not expecting to be very busy. Instead I found that it was extremely busy. I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table. The waitress was very slow and what could have taken 45 minutes to 1 hour took close to 1.5 hours. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was very noisy also. I wouldn't recommend going to this Chilis unless you really want Chilis.
I went here to get two footlong sandwiches and they acted like it was no big deal. That was a surprise to me because at any other Subway it would have been the end of the world. The service was great and I would definitely go here again. I recommend that you go here too.
I went here just to pick up a couple items while on a trip (and to get money over to avoid bank fees). It was a huge Target in which I ended up walking a mile to find everything I needed. All the clothes are placed right in the middle leaving you to walk around the entire store to get other items. It was a fairly clean, well kept Target. The parking lot was extremely busy. I would consider going here again if I am in the area.
I went here to get some laundry done instead of using the one machine that my hotel provided. It was a very big laundromat, but it was it was in need of some modernization. The machines looked fairly old and outdated. The floor was dirty with lint from the machines. I got all my laundry done with no problems. I think the place could do really well if it cleaned up a bit.
I went here just to use the internet, but the store was huge. It was probably the biggest Barnes and Noble I've ever been to. There is a Starbucks inside like all other Barnes and Nobles. There appeared to be a wide selection of books and it was pretty quiet. The bathroom was in the far corner and looked like it needed to be cleaned. I would definitely go here again.
I went to this Elephant Bar for lunch with my 2 daughters one day. We didn't have to wait for a table and we were placed in a booth in the back next to a water wall. The water on the wall occassionally bounced off hitting us at the table. It wasn't a lot of water, but it was annoying. The service was good. The cokes that my daughters ordered tasted really watered down. The food was good as always. I would definitely go here again if I am in the area, but I would ask for a table away from the water wall.
I went here one day for lunch. Suprisingly, I didn't have to wait very long in line. They had the foods I wanted and I didn't have to wait for them to be made. The service was great. I liked this Panda Express. If I am in the area again, I would definitely go to this one. I would recommend it to anybody looking for great Chinese Food.
