Southern Nevada Zoological
We took the kids for grandma's visit. The parking was oddly marked so we parked on the dirt next to the fence. As soon as we got out of the van we were greeted by 2 wayward peacocks out for a stroll. The smell of urine hits you immediately but it is only by the back building we parked near.
There are more birds than you know what to do with but the constant movement of the birds kept the kids amused and laughing the entire time we were there. My son loved feeding the different kinds of birds especially the baby chicks. The best deal on seed was to buy a cup where you buy the entrance ticket for $1 and they recycle the cups so be sure to bring it back to them. You can also buy food for the goats.
It is a small zoo but they make due with the limit space and funding. There is enough for a small child to enjoy the zoo experience without being bored and you don't feel bad with the price either. They had a senor rate for grandma and there was a 50% off coupon for the kid's ticket online.
The birds did get to be a pain but only for the adults. The kids loved it. It is worth this little annoyance to see the fun your kids will have here.
A & W
This particular A & W was very disappointing. Going to this resturaunt you must get A & W Root Beer. However, the root beer I got from this particular location has a faint metallic taste to it. The service itself was extremely slow. I only ordered one drink yet it took 8 minutes to make. I was the only customer there. How it takes 8 minutes to put a cup up to the fountain and fill it is beyond me?
I am sure other locations do not have metallic tasting root beer. It probably has to do with the water quality in the area.
PROS: Name recognition
CONS: Metallic tasting root beer.
Friendly's
This Friendly's is one of the easiest to get to. It is just south off the exit from the New York State Thruway. It is one of the smaller Friendly's locations which is a surprise considering its location. The inside is very clean and there are fun games on the table for you to play while waiting for your food.
The best sandwich in the world here is the Reuben SuperMelt. They make it the right way with sauerkraut and not cole slaw like many places do lately. It is out of this world. You do get their yummy cole slaw as a side.
Dessert is what this place does the best. The Reese's Pieces Sundae is a personal favorite with vanilla ice-cream, chocolate sauce, peanut butter sauce, and Reese's Pieces. They also have sundaes featuring Oreos, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Heath bars and more.
PROS: Great locations.
CONS: Could be bigger.
Friendly's
This Friendly's location is lcoated off the beaten path a bit. Although located on Main Street it is not on the bus line from the universities nearby so you will need to walk or drive your own car. The building is clean and the staff is friendly.

Kids Quest
This location is the newest Kids Quest and the worst one. Several staff members were rude at pick up. My son who was on their "potty patrol" had pooped. We have been to Kids Quest 5 times and this made the 4th time that my son had pooped and left in it.
My infant must have cried the entire time but they told me she was happy the whole time. Her face was red and blotchy from crying. She never cries unless she is really upset. She was suppose to nap but there was no indication that they even tried to help her nap. They told me that they kept having to move her because she would roll on things she is not supposed to. There should be nothing in a baby room that a baby cannot play on or roll on.
Having said that, my son loves to go here and he has only been here. If we even walk by the door he begs to go. There is something called Ballocity that my son loves. It is a 3-floor foam ball play area with cannons, slides, and more.
For the older children there is also karaoke, video games, legos, barbies, kitchen area, art area, and more.
PROS: Older kids love it.
CONS: Not great at Potty Patrol.
Burger King
I stopped at this Burger King with my son the other morning for breakfast. It is located in a shopping center at the northeast corner of Rancho and Craig. It was a strange experience.
I pulled into the drive thru and a male voice asked to take my order. I began to order when female voice asked me to wait that she wasn't ready. Okay. We orders a kid's french toast stick meal with milk and an egg sanwich. I drove to the window and waited. The girl hands me an orange juice. I told her that I didn't order an orange juice. She said that I had with the kid's meal. I said I ordered milk. She huffed, took back the orange juice, and thrust a milk at me. Alrighty then. We get the rest of our order and I head home. When we got home I discovered that my son's toy in his meal was not only open but broken.
We don't eat at Burger King often and I think it is safe to say we wont be eating here again.
PROS: Quick service.
CONS: Rude. Wrong order. Toys open and broken.
Savers
This Savers is located on thye southwest corner of Rancho and Cheyenne. The shopping center itself is rather dirty and in need of repair.
The staff at the front was very friendly but the staff on the floor were not very helpful. I got a great deal on Dr. Seuss books at 69 cents each. The aisles could have used a little bit more room. I found them to be very narrow. There were baby items at the back that were all over the floor in a way that was hard to see what they had. I was looking for a particular baby toy and could not really sort through the pile.
The prices are great but you need to make sure you have a lot of time to sort through the junk and find the great deals.
PROS: Great prices on used items.
CONS: Some staff were not helpful.
Weinerschnitzel
My son and I stopped here yesterday for lunch. This location is located on the corner of a busy intersection, northwest corner of Cheyenne and Rancho, so it is rather difficult to get into the parking lot.
We used the drive-thru which was fairly quick to place your order but rather slow to get it out to you.
Our order included a child's hot dog, fries, Italian sausge sandwich, and chili cheese fries. Everything tasted terrific. The child's hot dog comes with mustard on it so if your child does not like mustard make sure you request no mustard. The Italian sandwich is an Italian sausage with peppers and onions.
Our kid's meal was supposed to come with fries but they forgot. They gave the wrong fries with my order and we had to wait. They let us keep the wrong fries and that is how my son ended up getting his fries.
The food is great but the need to work on the customer service.
PROS: Great Hot Dog
CONS: Check Your Order at the Drive Thru
Denny's
We ate at this Denny's location the other day but even though there were plenty of open tables we had to wait because the store's 4 highchairs were all in use. We finally chose to sit without the highchair and when one became availible thye gave it to us.
The food we excellent and they even brought us crackers for the baby to munch on. Our drinks were never empty. The food was hot and the produce was crisp. All in all it was an excellent visit. Not being a big fan of Denny's, I was impressed.
PROS: Great food at great price.
CONS: Needs more highchairs.
Christensen Jim Md - Allergy & Asthma Assoc
I took my son here for extreme dry skin and hyperactivity. DR. Tottori did not even look at his dry skin areas but prescribed an ointment and treatment. Beyond that he also prescribed 2 asthma medications. Umm...my son was not there for any asthma or lung related reasons. What the?!?!?! Why does he need asthma medicine? He also did scratch tests on my son and although testing positive for 4 items with a +2 the told me he was only allergic to 2 of those items. I asked about the other 2 and they said just because it was positive it doesn't mean that he is allergic. The treatment prescribed for the dry skin goes against anything I have ever heard from any other doctor and common sense. They want me to bath him twice a day. Common sense tells you that this will make his skin drier NOT heal. They kept promising my son stickers and lollipops but never brought him any of that. I felt lied to and that the doctor didn't address any of the concerns that I brought to the office with me. Don't believe the hype, this doctor is too full of himself and the perks the drug companies give him to treat his patients honestly.
PROS: Several offices.
CONS: Ignored parents. Prescribe medications not needed.
