Personally , I am more familiar with the Feed Barn Store in Redmond. It has changed hands several times in the last five years. the clientele has entirely changed. I really liked it the way it was initially.
Use to be all the farmers and ranchers and locals filled the place. It was just humming! Small orders of grains or big ones all got treated the same. Fast ,knowledgeable folks that were ready to help were there to serve you quickly and efficiently. You could really ask them technical questions.
Now it is more trendy...they have moved the shelves around four times ! Seems almost the flavor of a pet store. I miss the old livestock quality it use to have. I really miss the folks who had so much knowledge. I get the impression most of the salesforce here hasve never even been in a barn. don't ask them questions!
PROS: local...stocks lots of feed for most critters
CONS: trendy and citified...
This is a really great business. This is a no-kill shelter and boy do they work hard to place the dogs and cats they receive in there. If they have an animal in there too long they send it to Portland or somewhere else where the breed of dog may be more desireable.
There are lots of volunteers there to help and you can always offer your help .
Great staff of folks. Newer facility too.
PROS: good clean caring place for homeless animals
CONS: that there are so many homeless animals
I have several friends who have used this service. It is a good one. One of my friends is a horse trainer and just can't get away to have her little yorkies groomed. she can't abide trimming their nails.
This one is fast courteous and does a very acceptable job. I have heard very good reviews!
PROS: Oh so handy.
This one is also a great store. More feed and nutritional thigs. some great breed books and how to train books and information in finding dog trainers etc. Staff is friendly and animals lovers or at least appreciaters. That makes it fun,
fairly expensive store..but folks don't seem to mind the cost when it comes to the fur-love of their lives!
PROS: clean and well stocked. Staff is knowledgeable
This store proves the ingenuity of people. This is a place you can take your own dog to wash and spiff him up. You get to use their tubs, water and towels. And when you leave you leave the wet dog smell behind.
This is so great if you have a big hairy dog..(my Aussie) to wash and the nightmare of hair all over the bathroom and hallway and livingroom in not inviting!
PROS: good idea..
CONS: you still get wet!
This is a fine speciality store for your pets. It is clear onthe south side of town, but easy to find. good parking .
the supply of gifts and supplies is abundant and the folks are eager to help.
Not as sharp as some of the competition but a nice store and good to visit .
PROS: variety, good staff
CONS: clear in bend!
This store specializes in everything for the pet. they do not sell dogs I am thankful to say, however, you can adopt dogs brought in by the humane society.
they groom and have photos sometimes and the staff is very helpful and friendly. they sell lots of spendy toys and speciality dog and cat foods. this store is busy!
The best part is you can walk in with your dog in tow...I really love to socialize my Dachshunds this way.
A fun experience.
PROS: Lots of great stock, good staff, services offered
CONS: little spendy
This store has satisfactory feed and usually in stock. However, they are not much for customer appreciation at all. The guy I always get absolutely refuses to smile. I have the impression I am interrupting a private party when I show up.
All I buy there is a livestock blend grain that I find sufficient for my horses. I won't give them more business because I don't like the way I am treated in this store.
they also dont' stock near enough suppies in the vet care dept. and refuse to carry puppy shots that are Leptospirosis free. Many breeders cannot use vaccine with that drug.
All in all not one of my favorite stores at all.
PROS: good livestock feed at good price
CONS: RUDE employees
This is the local pet store in downtown Redmond. The owners are very interested in raising exotic birds. Parrots and rare finches and parakeets. The are vey conscientious about them all. I have purchased a few of the birds, cockatiels and many finches. They are lovely birds.
However, the place is really smelly. there must not be adaquet ventilation in the building and someone is a very heavy smoker. It is hard to breathe in the store.
I still enjoy having this store close. I just bought some lovely pond plants there this year. But they need to clean up the air quality issue.
PROS: nice selection of birds and accessories and fish equipment
SEars is one of those companies that instill confidence in me. I really believe they will be here next year if I need to update my apliances or need repair. The sales force is knowledgeable and really courteous. We have purchased several large appliances here and have never been disappointed .
PROS: great customer service and follow thru. good prices too
CONS: clear in bend!
