Cap N' Cork Junior Market

Cap N Cork was originally across the street where they are now finishing up a new building.

The new location is nicer and has joined us in the 21st century. The old store was sort of old and run down.

So if you are ever in Los Feliz and need to buy alcohol, this is the place.

Simply Thai Restaurant

I am a night owl and find that I get hungry pretty late. Problem is that I get tired of eating fast food and/or Denny's.

So one night while in search for good late night eats, I found this place. It is open til 10pm Mon-Thurs and 11pm Fri& Sat. The food was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend their green curry (beef or chicken).

The price of the food is a little higher than other thai restaurants, but you have to consider that it is located in Los Feliz.

Eat'N High Restaurant

This thai restaurant is on the corner of Fountain and Virgil. The place is a little cheesy looking and small (looks like a little hut). But the food is tasty and cheap. I highly recommend the pad thai and the chicken curry. The bbq chicken is a little dry.

The only problem is that there is no parking lot. I recommend parking at the Vons on the corner of Sunset (on block north).

L A Thai Vegan

I am a huge fan of thai food. Problem is that I had always had trouble finding one that had both great food and in a good location.

This place meets both requirements. It is not as good as a few other thai restaurants, but their pad thai is pretty good. The bbq chicken is also really good.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain

Everyone has had chocolate at one point or another but Ghirardelli chocolate is amazing. It is sweet and creamy. It really does melt in your mouth.

Now the great thing about going to the Ghirardelli soda fountain is that you can have more than just their amazing chocolate. For instance, you can have a hot fudge sundae. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Be warned nothing at the shop is "inexpensive" but it is well worth the money.

Lucky Strike

His place give you a nostalgic feeling that is really hard to describe. The ambiance is good-plenty of young 20 somethings frequent this place. The bowling alley is well maintained and the food is descent.

AMF Bowling Centers

I am not sure what makes a bowling place special, but this place does not have it.

I have gone to this place on two occasions and both times I had a good time. But the lanes need maintenance and the snack bar was not good at all (everything was over priced and not very good).I strongly suggest just driving the extra ten minutes to the AMF in Arcadia instead.

Shell

This gas station is great because it has a car service place, gas pumps, and a car wash all in the same place. That is hugely convenient. Also, you get a free car wash when you have an oil change done.

Chevron Car Wash

I am a procrastinator and hate washing my car. So this chevron station is perfect for me because I can fill up my tank and get a car wash all in one place. It is not a hand wash car wash (it is one of those automated machine washes), so if you have a brand new car be careful. Also, remember to bring a towel to finish drying up your car.

Animal Emergency Clinic

Our normal vet, like most vets, only has normal business hours. So when our 3 month old puppy could not open her right eye on a Saturday night (around 11pm) we were frantic. We took her to the nearest emergency clinic we could find (which was the animal emergency clinic of pasadena).

Surprisingly, the service and quality of care she received was good. The vet on staff diagnosed her and prescribed an antibiotic. He explained to us that in puppies it is quite common to have minor infections and showed us how to apply the medication.

In a couple of days our puppies infection cleared up and we are very glad we took her to this emergency clinic.
