I've been to Trattoria Mollie's several times for dinner over the past couple of years. The food as always been excellent (my favorite are the homemade meatballs) and the service has been decent. The prices are slightly inflated since her Oprah appearance, but still worth it for the great food.
If you leave or are visiting the San Gabriel or San Fernando valleys, flying in and out of Burbank airport is the way to go. It's so much easier than fighting with the long lines at LAX (not to mention the traffic just to GET to LAX). If you're parking at the airport, avoid the valet parking at all costs. I had multiple items stolen from my car and have had friends experience the same. There are several lots that are convenient (and cheaper) near by.
Star Park is so close to the airport, it takes only minutes to get from the lot to the terminal. I started using them after I had multiple items stolen out of my car when I used the valet service offered by the airport.
Big Al's is very similar to chains like Subway. They have great sandwiches and pretty decent prices. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookies are SOOOO good.
CONS: They have weird hours. They're usually closed when I stop by.
Little Alex's is tucked away in the Vons shopping center. They have great Mexican food at decent prices. I always get the chicken soup when I'm sick with the flu or a cold (it's the only thing that makes me feel better). It gets pretty crazy at lunch, but they get through the line pretty quickly.
Teuscher has THE best Swiss chocolate! Every time I'm in San Francisco, I have to stop by and stock up. If you even remotely love chocolate, you must stop by and try one of their many truffles.
Great food and great atmosphere. Had a wonderful meal here while attending a conference. Very convenient to Union Square. Make sure you save room for desert!
Can't be beat in terms of quality and service, but can be expensive. We'll worth the money, though - especially if you're trying to impress.
By far the best seafood restaurant I've found in Pasadena. Wide variety to choose from on the menu that's all very reasonably priced. Everything's excellent, but my favorites are the fish tacos and Alaskan Halibut. If you're looking for great seafood, go to Cameron's!
Awesome Italian food in an upscale, but relaxed atmosphere. Ask for a table out on the patio next to the creek. Make reservations as they fill up fast.
