A lovely boutique on Madison Ave. The eyeglasses here make more of a fashion statement than what you would find at your average, neighborhood eyeglass shops. Think Bono or Elton John. The frames come in geometric shapes and groovy colors to give an overall selection of chic designs. The only thing is that not everyone has the money to pay for the hip fashions here, so definitely expect to leave with an empty wallet or a dent of debt on your plastic credit cards.
This is a great place to learn all different genres of dance, whether it be salsa, swing, country, ballroom, or your practicing for your wedding. They have classes for all levels of dancers, be it beginners or pros. It's a fun place and the teachers are all experienced/professional. There is a special discount for new customers, so be sure to take advantage of it when you go.
So many wonderful accessories and trinkets can be found here. It's like being in a giant-size jewelry box. The pros are the unusual merchandise, you get individual attention from the staff, and overall great stuff for bargain prices. They sell Yuki bags here, too! They are very durable, yet elegant hand bags. This place is a great neighborhood boutique.
This store was a great find for me. They had a lot of high end clothes for a fraction of the cost! The customer service was helpful--definitely not overbearing like other boutiques where the staff usually works on commission. If you're on a budget, but do not want to sacrifice fashion, definitely shop here. Your friends will never even know you got your clothes from a thrift store.
I had my doubts, but this place turned out to be a gem. I walked out of the salon looking as if I had spent two weeks in the Bahamas. Meanwhile, it had just been the beginning of summer when I went. It definitely wasn't like those pasty, orange-looking, artificial ones you get from over-the-counter products. The customer service was excellent--everybody was very attentive. Also, I was afraid I might mess up my tan like Ross did on Friends, but it was very easy to follow and mine ended up turning out great!
I'm not quite sure how to rate a piercing place/tattoo parlor. All I know is that my friend and I chose this one because the people inside looked the least intimidating out of all the other places we visited. I got a Chinese symbol done on the back of my right shoulder and my friend got a butterfly above her butt. We both were screaming like babies. Still, I felt they did a good job. We liked how they turned out. The people were patient with us and put up with our screaming. They tried to calm us down and assure us that it would be okay, which I thought was very sweet of them. Not every place cares if you're in pain.
I can only rate this place from what I've heard from my friend. He is a martial arts buff and he has private training sessions here. He seriously swears by the place. His coach is brilliant and he always makes sure that my friend works his hardest and is always pushing/challenging himself. The facility is very spacious and the equipment is in tip-top shape. You should definitely visit their website: http://www.xfittraining.com. I'm not sure about the price. My friend says it's average, but I'm not sure about coughing up $80 bucks and hour. It's up to the person, I guess.
I am the laziest person in the world; I hate exercising. A friend, however, dragged me to a pilates class with her here at the PSYG and it was such a fun experience that I have been going ever since. It's doesn't feel like work; rather, it's like giving your body a treat. The teachers are very experienced and give everyone individual attention to pinpoint your weaknesses and make sure you are doing the moves correctly. It really helps with relieving chronic body pains as well. I've never been in better shape.
This is a very pleasant day spa that offers a variety of services, including facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, etc. The staff is very attentive and pamper you as if you were royalty. Worth every penny.
I felt Ms. Geller was very professional. She arrived promptly to see me and was able to explain nutrition to me in a simple way, with focused advice. She gave me some helpful tips on how to stay slim and healthy without always being hungry and craving sweets. Her office is also very pleasant. I highly recommend Ms. Geller to others.
