Overall, the visit was satisfactory. I say this because Ms. Cosman didn't fully explain my diet guidelines in laymen terms. I got a lot of doctor's babble pretty much. Lazy people like me need a simple plan to follow, especially when it's food-related and there are just so many temptations out there to break the diet. I think this was one of those generic nutritionist visits. She didn't give me any helpful that pertained to my individual diet routine.
Lovely place, lovely people, but not so lovely price. This very chic salon is located on Madison Ave, so expect to spend mucho dollars here. They offer massages and nail work, but for the most part it's a hair salon for blow-outs, cuts, and hairdos. One of the great non-hair treatments is the medical pedicure--it's heaven on your feet.
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but my family always seems to miss when they bring out the line of new bathing suits for the summer. So, by the time we go shopping, everything has already been out and now the prices are reduced, but the only sizes left are the extra large ones. Pesca Boutique was a lifesaver this summer because when all the other chain stores were out of decent bathing suits, this store had a full line. They actually sell them year round. The styles were awesome--they all come from Europe, so it was all very trendy and chic. I really loved this store because I was able to get a new bathing suit (which they have full lines of actually one pieces) that was stylish and unique. I recommend this to others who are having a hard time finding suitable swimwear.
A decent flower shop located on Fulton Street. I have only been here two or three times, mostly because I have another place I prefer, but this business is okay. They have the usual assortment of flowers, nothing extravagant really for those who bask in the art of floral decor. However, they do have these nifty gift baskets, which I find charming. The pricing is median and the service was average.
I went here to have a few large-sized pictures framed. The end product was satisfactory, not as good as I had hoped. The service was also a bit slow for my taste. It wasn't finished when I was told it would be done and the cost was a little pricey. I think there are probably other better options if you need framing done.
This is a small, neighborhood store. The selection is not the largest or the greatest, but there are a few nice-tasting wines for an economical price. I did have a problem with the saleswoman, though. She was a little bit curt with me, so I don't come here often. Every now and again, however, I do stop by. She isn't always the one in the front.
I haven't used this vet myself, but a friend of mine couldn't stop staying great things about Dr. Keating and her staff. They are an extremely compassionate bunch. Very dedicated to giving their customers great service. The minute you walk inside, you are greeted and given attention (both you and your pet).
My sister had heard this agency had a good reputation, so she gave it a try. She ended up being very disappointed with the service she received. The sitters really weren't that interactive with her 2 kids (my nieces). If you ever have seen the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, think of the old nanny who had a list of things she didn't do (I don't cook, I don't clean, I don't read stories, I don't change diapers, etc.). The nanny that my sister got was basically a replica of the "I don't" nanny from the movie.
If you need last-minute wigs for a Halloween costume, then this is the place to go. They have everything here from Madonna wigs to Burt Reynolds! They also have general wigs, like for aphros, braids, or if you needed a mustache or beard. The service here is excellent. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and they have a great sense of humor! Check it out.
I still have fond memories of this school, as it was the first I ever attended. I began with Kindergarden, which meant I missed out on the sandbox and the tricycles the pre-schoolers got to enjoy. There were a few mean teachers who traumatized me, but probably also helped to build my character. There were also extremely nice ones who taught me compassion and how to share and be confident and independent. The one thing that might be bad (though as a child it's great) is the fact that you basically have the same people in your class every year, meaning you can't really get to know new people and you become reliant on old friendships. In the real world, it's different. Friendships are much more fleeting. Overall, I really did love this school and if you were to choose a Catholic school for your child, this would be a great one. Every year, there are Christmas and Spring concerts where every grade gets to perform a song. The first Friday of every month, we attend church at the lovely church across the street from the school. This was just a great school of which I will always have fond memories.
