This is the only place you will ever need to go to get ANY music, whatsoever. They carry literally thousands and thousands of any type of genre imaginable. Being the music lover that I am, I love to spend my afternoons there just browsing to see if they have a certain LP that isn't sold in other stores and jumping up and down in joy when I find it. The workers are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. Don't let the size or HUGE selection scare you the first time you step in..after a few minutes you'll fit right in. :]
PROS: huge selection
I have such fond memories of this place...the donuts and food were wonderful and the lady behind the counter was always really nice. Unfortunately, at this very moment, it is closed, I dont know wether it's because it is remodling or if it's shut down. The prices were great for the portions that they serve. Also, the parking is never a hassle since it is on Balboa.
PROS: great food, easy parking
CONS: closed right now
For a little bakery on the outskirts of the Richmond district, it serves really good pastries! While the price is a little high compared to those on Clement or in Chinatown, the food is excellent. I'm going to agree with the review before me, DON'T go durning lunch hours. Students from the nearby high school jam the place up and it is literally impossible to get what you want without waiting forever.
PROS: great food and place to socialize
CONS: lunch hours are crazy, price a bit higher than others
Whenever my group of friends get together to go eat lunch and is in the mood for some great Japanese food, we don't even have to think about where to go. Having been there so many times we practically memorized the menu, we had never been let down once. The service, while not also speedy, is okay. But the food is wonderful and even more lovely is the price. Compared to other numerous sushi joints in San Francisco, Kitaro is in the lower priced portion. The place is almost always full so be sure to get there a bit earlier before the afternoon rush. Parking can be a pain, especially since it is located on Geary st. so park your car on Anza or Balboa if you want to have a parking spot.
PROS: great food
CONS: parking is a headache.
Contrary to what the previous poster had to say, George Washington High School is a wonderful school. It is mentally stimulating, and offers many AP and Honors classes. Maybe the poster did not take the appropriate classes. According to Newsweek only 15% of high school juniors and seniors across the country take AP exams. At Washington, 37% of juniors and seniors take AP exams. What does that say about Washington students? We work incredibly hard. Maybe that's why GWHS is always in the top 3 schools of San Francisco. Also, it doesn't hurt that it is the #455 on the list of the best high schools in America...only one other school in san francisco is on the list above 500 and it isn't Lowell or Lincoln.
PROS: safe neighborhood, many great programs available,
