I like this location better than Chicago Ave. - I can find things easier. The staff is very friendly - I've had to place several special orders for paper and ribbons and they have always come in within a few days. They also spend the better part of 30 minutes calling around to find out which stores had remainders of a certain ribbon and getting it all to their store so I could get as much as i needed. Their example books are also full of great ideas.
Sappanos Paint & Wallpaper Co
We bought the paint for our bathroom and dining room here. Both times we had to have them match our desired color in Benjamin Moore Paint. Perfect! The guys were also very helpful at finding things when my husband sent me in alone to buy primer and such for the bathroom. I don't think the prices are any higher than you would get at a chain store, and I felt like these people really knew what they were talking about.
Trader Joe's
I love this Trader Joe's - it's a little larger than some in the area. They have an excellent assortment of produce, groceries, and specialty cheeses and meats. Their frozen food section is wonderful (only place I'll buy frozen shrimp and scallops from). We are able to eat healthy without breaking the bank at this store.
Abt
This store offers not only excellent prices on electronics and appliances, but they also have amazing "model showrooms" set up for kitchens, baths, and home theaters. They carry everything from common kitchen appliance brands to high end entertainment components, as well as small appliances like KitchenAid mixers. We bought our dishwasher there, and will buy our new washer/dryer there when it's time!

All the doctors (and nurse practitioners) in this practice are wonderful to work with! The staff is always friendly, and we've found the atmosphere comfortable for both kids and adults. I appreciate the quick responses we get from the doctors as well. This is the first time I have gone to a nurse practitioner, and I couldn't be more pleased - she was very attentive, asked excellent questions, and had an excellent bedside manner. Their office staff are also very helpful at dealing with insurance issues!
Renaissance-Sonoma Lodge
My husband and I stayed at The Lodge last summer. The room was very nice (fireplace, large tub). We spent most of our time touring wineries, but we did eat breakfast there several times. The food was ridiculously pricey ($12 for JUST an omlette, no sides???), but it was good. We used the spa one day and enjoyed our services (massage & facial). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hyatt-Deerfield
This hotel is very nice inside, clean, and well-kept. We asked for a corner king (we had previously stayed in one) and were told by the person at the front desk that the rooms were all the same and we were wrong. Whatever. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and the pillows weren't too fluffy but the room was fine, everything worked, liked the TV that swiveled from the sitting area to the bedroom. The food at the bar isn't too bad - we didn't get to try the brunch.
Amc Northbrook Court 14
I find that the prices here are a bit high (but what theater isn't, I guess). They are ridiculously crowded on weekends, and there are a LOT of children at this theater! Their popcorn is mediocre at best! But they do have a number of screens and a wide variety of things showing at any given time.
Aion Antiquities
I had a bridal shower at Aion and it was marvelous! The shop is so cute with tons of antiques everywhere. They did a "tea tasting" for us that included sandwiches, scones, salads, and several courses of different teas. They came out and told us about each tea, its benefits, and how it "paired" with different foods. We had a blast!
Afshar Inc-Ani Afhar
This boutique is rather pricey, but I suppose to be expected given its location. Her jewelry, however, is beatiful. She uses many colored stones, and the pieces are all very unique looking. She does a lot of necklace and bracelet sets. A great place to look if you can afford it!
