Dr. Hoffman is such an awesome doctor. She is really sweet and personable and she really knows what she is talking about. We never have to wait long in the waiting room and she never makes us feel rushed at our appointments. She always takes as much time as is needed to answer any questions I may have. I would never want to switch doctors for my children.
Crosspoint is a great church. They really focus on trying to get families involved by offering a lot of different activities for different groups of people. They are now in a new building, which makes it very nice. This has allowed them to have specific classrooms for the children - which is very nice. This is definitely the type of church that people talk about when they say "church family" - everyone tries to really take care of each other here.
This is a great community college. The fees are reasonable, there are a large variety of courses offered, there are a lot of classes that are transferrable to universities. This is a great alternative to going straight to a university because you can save money by taking certain required classes at the community college and the classes are usually easier than they would be at the university. Plus, you can almost always get the classes that you need rather than trying to get them at the university.
In this area, where there is not a lot to do, the Chumash Casino is a fun place to go for a night out. Not only can you gamble (which is usually illegal in California, but not on Indian reservations), but you can eat Las Vegas style buffets and see live top-notch shows and concerts. In addition, they have expanded from being just a casino to also being a resort and spa. They offer different promotions every month where you can win different cars or cash prizes. I think that the Chumash Casino offers a lot for what it costs to go.
The office provides excellent eye care. You could go to any of the doctors within the group and feel confident that you are receiving top notch care. There are two major drawbacks to this office. One of the drawbacks is that the waiting room is huge and it is always full. You should anticipate being in the waiting area for at least 45 minutes after your appointment is scheduled. The other drawback is the billing department. Last time that I went, I provided my new insurance information. They did not use it and billed my old insurance and they are now coming after me personally for the money, even though I told them that they need to bill the correct insurance.
This store is great. They sell pet supplies as well as actual pets. They are very good about letting parents come in with their kids so that the kids can look at the animals. They don't make you feel bad about going in just to see the animals, although we usually buy just a little something if we go in. They have rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, puppies, kittens and reptiles. I don't think their prices are too bad either.
These are the doctors that attended my son when he was in the hospital and I couldn't have been happier with them. They were very kind and gentle people. They were knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions without making me feel stupid. They really seemed to care about my baby and did very thorough examinations rather than some of the doctors who seemed to just look at him without really examining him. I think that this is a wonderful, caring and competent group. Their billing was pretty painless too.
This is the group that was on call when I was in labor with my child and I am really happy that they were. They provided my epidural and they did a great job. I have had an epidural previously and the anesthesiologist had to puncture me 5 or 6 times before he got the epidural in place. This time, with Coastal Anesthesiology, they got it right the first time and it must have been perfectly placed because I got very even pain relief. The doctor was friendly and even joked while putting the epidural in place in order to make me feel more at ease. He also explained exactly how the epidural works, which was really interesting.
The kids really like this place. As far as I am concerned, it is a warm swimming pool that smells like sulphur, but hey, if you are bored it is something local to do. Personally, I think it is really crowded and not really worth the price that you pay to get in. They also have a little RV park right next door that is part of the place. So, if you were on vacation and were staying at the RV park, I think it would be more fun to go to the springs because it is right next door. I really don't think it's worth it to make a special trip to this place though.
This is not a good place to go to alone if you are a woman. This is in kind of a seedy area of town and there are a lot of shady characters that hang around (they'll whistle and make lewd gestures at you). However, there is a huge selection of cheap stuff at this place. It is basically an indoor swapmeet where you will find a variety of stores from apparrel to electronics all under one roof at incredibly cheap prices with incredibly rude merchants. I'm sure that the authenticity of the brands of the items is questionable, but hey, if you're looking for aome cheap stuff, this is a cool place to check out.
