Broadway Pet Grooming

Alfonso has groomed our difficult little shih tzu for the past three years. This dog is suspicious of strangers, but Alfonso knows just how to get him to co-operate. Wehn we were on vacation in Carmel, people stopped us to ask where the dog was groomed--that's how good he looks after a trip to Broadway Pet grooming.
Alfonso genuines loves and understands the pets he works with, and he is a genius with scissors. I wish I could find a hairdresser that was as good as this man . The price, for bath and grooming, $40--45 seems reasonable compared with what other, less competnent groomers charge.

Bavarian Professionals

In 2000, We needed someone to check out a 1990 BMW we had just bought. They went over it with a fine-toothed comb and prepared a list of things that needed to be done right away, things that could wait, and an overall "wellness" profile of the car.. The work was done professionally , speedily and affordably. They have kept our open car in perfect shape and their work is so good that we had no qualms about purchasing a second used BMW. One can arrange for a loaner car with advance notice. The shop is so clean you could eat off the floor. The staff is courteous and takes the time to explain exactly what has been done to the car. No one is stuffy or prententious--they work here because they love the car for its engineering, not its status.They are the best around for BMWs.

Cheshire Cat Clinic

We have taken our cats here for the past 18--19 years at least (goes back to when Marty, the original owner, was starting out.)The present owner, Mark Youdall, is perfect: genuinely cares about cats, handles them with ease and expertise, and does not pressure heroic efforts when they might please the owner, but would be at the expense of the cat's quality of life. This clinic has teated : Phoebe, whose left jaw was shattered when she was 8; Rachel, who in old age had kidney failure; Felony, who had asthma, and most recently (past 9 yearsHal. .Phoebe live happily for 7 years after her facial surgery and Rachel, with hydration, lived an active, contented life for three and a half years after her diagnosis with kidney failure. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Wish there were a place equally fine for dogs.

PROS: compassion for the animal first; no heroices just to please the people
CONS: sometimes hard to get an appointment
