This has always been regarded as a St. Louis staple, when it comes to establishments. Personally, all I liked was the Fitz's rootbear. They are supposed to be famous for their hamburgers. I wasn't impressed, and am not a fan.
My husband and I , in search of a local hotdog establishment- entered "Frank 'N Patty's" upon it's grand opening- being the second customers in line- on this day- 8 31- 05. It was pretty good, the fries were great! I had the Chi-Town Dog. They need to invest in a bun steamer. Husband said the Chili Cheese Dog and 1/4 lb. Cheeseburger were good.
I have to say that I've been to several other Bandanas in the St. Louis area, and this is by far, my favorite. The food is always hot and plentiful, and I leave full and satisfied. The sauces are wonderful!
I had read great reviews on "Arcelias", and decided that my husband, son, and I just had to go. Much to my dismay, it was a rather small yet cozy dwelling, nestled among beautiful historic homes. That made for incredible ambience. Wish I could say the same about the food. The standard chips and dip were my first disappointment. The chips were hard, tasted stale, and lacking taste. the dip, I can hardly recall, so that tells you- not so memorable. Servings were too small, but incredibly tasty. I would go back, but not if I was extremely hungry.
