I was pretty excited when new restaurant opened up in town. That has been a few years, but it still seems pretty new to me. The first time I went here, it was extremely busy and we had to wait quite awhile for our food. The waitress did her best, but she was overworked. The food was ok. On subsequent visits, we have received good service and poor service. I never know what it will be when I go in. The restaurant is clean, but the smoking section is not blocked off from the non smoking, so it can be quite smokey. However, I have been told that this restaurant is completely wheelchair accesible.
I recently got my hair cut at this location. I brought in a picture of the style I wanted. Lesley, my stylist looked at the picture, and then to my amazwment, actually cut my hair so it looked like the picture! I was so pleased! The cost of the haircut also includes a shampoo which is nice. I love my new haircut!
I have several relatives that are buried at this cemetery. The cemetery does not have a lot of rules posted as to what you can and can not put out. I have planted flowers, and left statues out, with no problems. The cemetery is well kept, and looks nice.
My daughter has attended Hoppin Elementary since Kindergarten, she is now in Second grade. We have had nothing but wonderful things to say about this school and her teachers.
A child's kindergarten teacher is extremely important, and we could not have asked for a better teacher than Mrs. Bowen. My daughter still refers to her as "an angel". My daughter was always excited to get to school and learn something new. Mrs. Bowen made the day fly by for my daughter. There was always singing and fun. There was also some serious learning going on, but I don't even think the children realized it! My daughter progressed so much in the year she was in Mrs. Bowen's class, she instilled in my daughter a lifetime love of learning. Mrs. Bowen from the beginning knew the names of everyone in our family, and still asks about them by name when I see her in the hallway. My youngest, who won't be starting school for a few years yet, says that Mrs. Bowen is her teacher too. She can't wait to start kindergarten.
My daughter's first and second grade teachers have also been extremely wonderful. They make learning fun for the children, even now when things are starting to get a little more difficult (2nd grade). The teachers and staff respect the parents, and the children as well.
We live in Three Rivers, but decided to send our son to Mendon when he started school. We thought he would receive a better education. When my son started Kindergarten, he could read quite a few words. I didn't teach him to read, he somehow picked it up on his own. He was able to sound out and write many words by himself. By the time he finished Kindergarten in Mendon, he had barely improved over his initial abilities. He could have been reading full books if they had built on his skills. I tried to encourage him to read more at home, but he told me that they were not reading books in school, so he did not think he should read them at home.
In first grade, he had a horrible male teacher that continually yelled at the class. I did not find out the extent of the sitation until after my son was out of his class. I have talked to several other people with children at Mendon, and if you mention this particular teachers name, it is met with the same type of reaction. He should not be teaching young children.
My children now attend Three Rivers schools, and we coulnd't be happier. We know several other children in the same grades as our children, and they do not seem to be making the same progress in Mendon as they are in Three Rivers.
My son attended Three Rivers Middle School from 6-8 grades. I am always impressed with the wonderful education he has received. His teachers are kind and understanding, and truly seem to love what they do. He is consistently on the honor roll, and is always challenged to reach his full potential. I can not say enough about how wonderful this school has been.
I went to this location a few years ago, and had some fillings put in. Within a year, the fillings were cracked, and some had fallen out. I had to go to another dentist to have the work redone. I have heard several people say they had similar experiences with this dentist.
My husband went to this location a few years ago. He had hurt his eye at work, and they told him to go here. They got him right in, and gave him a thorough examination. They told him to come back in a few days, and they rechecked him. Everything looked fine at that point, but they gave him a referal to another eye doctor to make sure everything was healing the way it should. The staff was professional and considerate.
We were going to get our cat fixed, and were referred to Dr. Wathen by an acquintance. We called, and everything sounded good, and the price was very reasonable, $25 total.
We took our cat in, and the office looked nice, it was very small, but the staff was real friendly and helpful. The doctor took our cat, and put him in a small metal cage with no pillow or litter box. They were doing the surgery the next morning, and the doctor told me what time I could pick him up. He answered all my questions, and was quite friendly.
The next day, the receptionist called to let us know that the surgery had went fine, and our cat would be ready to go home in a few hours. When we arrived at the vet that afternoon, they put our cat in a carrier, and handed him to me. They gave me directions on taking care of him, and I paid the bill.
While we were driving home, we noticed that the cat smelled very bad. We thought that he had peed in the carrier. When we got him home, and too him out of the carrier, we could see that he had dried pee all over him. I had no choice but to give him a bath. It took three baths to get most of the smell off of him. We reguarly bathe our cat, so he was somewhat use to it, and since he was still sedated, he was very cooperative. When I was finished with the third bath, I thought he still smelled somewhat, but I didn't have the heart to put him through another lathering. When he dried, he smelled pretty good.
Our cat was still groggy the next day, but now, over a month later, he is fine and running around.
We have since taken our dog to the clinic to receive her shots, but I am not sure that I would take an animal there for surgery again. I am not sure why there was no litter box or pillow for the cats in the cage. I wish the cat would have been cleaned up some before sending him home.
PROS: Cheap, friendly staff
CONS: Cat was covered in pee when they sent him home
I had been told that the break cylinder in my van was bad, and I had called around to several different garages, and the price we had gotten on it was about $300 - $350. I had been told that I could probably drive it for awhile without many problems, so I put off getting it fixed. Meanwhile, my husband's truck needed some work done as well, and a woman at his work told him about Wadsworth Garage. She told him he was very reasonable and did great work. Another woman where he worked said her husband worked there, so my husband decided to give it a try. The truck was fixed within the day, and it only cost $90. I am not sure exactly what he fixed with the breaks, but I know it would have cost a lot more anywhere else!
With the success of the truck, we decided to take our van in. We expected it would cost more than the truck, and were prepared for a few hundered dollar bill. When they called with the price, I braced myself, and then almost fell over when they quoted me $75!! The truck was fixed by the next morning, and the van and the truck are both doing great.
The garage is a little hard to find, and it doesn't look like much, but it is really worth it to find this place!! With this garage, we figure we will keep the vehicles we have longer than we had planned.
PROS: Inexpensive, honest, fast, great work
