Oscar's sells a large variety of tires and wheels at all levels of quality of price. You can often find a good deal here by swapping out the wheels you have for some that someone else swapped previously. It's a good place to check when you're shopping.

Holmes Smokehouse

Holmes smokehouse has been providing good locally made sausage in this area for many years. They have many varieties and flavors that can be picked up in local groceries, or you can stop right by their restaurant and meat market and pick it up there.

ABC Animal & Bird Clinic

This is the place to go if you have a rare or unusal animal or bird to care for. These people see and care for pets that regular vet's offices won't touch. They are very expert and provide top notch care for unusual pets.

Burke's Outlet

Burke's Outlet is, in my opinion, where things go when they haven't sold at any other outlet. Some items can be bought at huge discounts. On Monday's, seniors get an extra 15% discount, and on Friday's people under 50 get the discount. I've found some amazing bargains on clothes as well as household items in Burke's. You just have to do a lot of looking.

Hank's Ice Cream Parlor

If I'm not mistaken, Hank makes all his own ice creams, and every one of them we have tried has been absolutely heavenly. He has a big selection of flavors at all times. His wife makes home made cones in the shop as well. This is a wonderful special treat whenever we are in the area of the Reliant stadium and Astro complex.

Southway Systems Computing Center Incorporated

This company started small and has grown phenomenally because of its excellence. They do everything from solving small everyday personal computer problems and repairs to selling and maintaining large systems far beyond my ability to comprehend.

Antone's

Antone's original po'boy sandwiches have been in Houston as long as I have, and that's quite a long time. They are a tradition. Their po'boy consists of a combination of meats and cheeses, their own relish, mayo, and a few pickles on a delicious sub bun. They also make other sandwiches and serve lots of delicious side items, beverages, and desserts.

PROS: There is nothing else like an Antone's po-boy

Wishnow Sugar Vision Group

The doctors and opticians at this group are all friendly and excellent. My family has purchased many pairs of glasses as well as contact lenses from them, and we are always treated well and taken good care of.

Mars Roofing

When we needed a new roof on our house, we got quite a few bids, and we learned a lot in the bidding process. I felt like I learned most about the process from Mars, and they were willing to compete with other bidders to win our business. They did a first class job at a fair price, and we all did well in the process.

Houston Ear Nose & Throat

We have been using Houston ENT clinic physicians for many years. One of their surgeons performed cutting edge endoscopic sinus surgery on me in the 1980s that was life changing in the most positive ways. Since then my husband has relied on them for hearing testing and aids, and our entire family relies on them for all ear, nose, and throat concerns that occur in our allergy and sinus problem laden environment.
