When I booked this place for my wedding back in February of 2003, I thought the construction would be done on the main building, which is what drew me to Granberry in the first place. However after waiting 6 months and seeing no construction go up (when it was supposed to be complete in July of 2003), I got nervous and starting looking at other reception places. the owner swore that he would have the place complete by my wedding day, June of 2004, almost a full year after when it was supposed to be constructed. However, when it got to be October and still nothing had been done, I pulled out. The owner said again it would be done, but he reluctantly gave me back my deposit. I ended up booking at another venue, which turned out beautiful. Its now been fifteen months since my wedding day and the place still not constructed. If the owner had been honest with me, it would have been fine, but I would have hated to have waited until my wedding day to find out it wasn't built.
PROS: Pretty greenery
CONS: noncommital staff
I had my hair and make-up done here on my wedding day. I liked the way Laura, the make-up artist, took into concern how I wanted to look on my wedding day. She listened to me and made suggestions based upon the pictures I brought. Everything turned out great the day of my wedding. I would highly recommend them
PROS: Attentive, Neat atmosphere
CONS: Interior is too dark, We had to redo my make-up using the outside light
We have a monthly happy hour here and so far I have not been too impressed. The food is usually very good. However, if you sit on the patio, it takes at least 15 minutes to have a waitress come and get a drink order.
PROS: good food, live bands
CONS: slow staff, bad drink specials
I always love coming to this location. it is never crowded, has good drink specials and a nice patio. However twice now, my food (usually chicken quesadillas) has taken over 20 minutes to come out when everyone else around me has been served. This usually occurs during lunch, however when people who were 10 people behind me in line get served fajitas before I get my quesadillas, there seems to be a problem there.
PROS: Inexpensive, not crowded
CONS: Slow Service
Overall, I had a good experience there. The waitstaff was attentive when I first arrived. However, I felt rushed throughout the meal and was asked four or five times whether or not I was done with my lunch. Good Queso though!
PROS: Good Food
CONS: Rushed lunch
Michelle made my wedding cake and it was absolutely delicious. Not only was it moist and fresh the day of, it tasted absolutely wonderful on our year anniversary.
PROS: Low Prices, Fresh, delicious cake
I came here 5 times before I found "the one" dress. Most of the time, they were very attentive. However, the alteration lady is the nices person I have ever met! On the day of my bridal portrait, she gave me her "golf -sized" umbrella to use when it was pouring down rain and let me use it for the remainder of the day now that is customer service!!!
PROS: Great customer service, good value in the dresses
When I first met Tiffany, I got along with her well. As the weeks before the wedding came, however, I was not as impressed with her recommendations of other wedding vendors. They did not seem to fit with the what we wanted. (i.e. she suggested a 50 person max reception hall for a 200+ guest list). However when it came to the wedding day, I could NOT have asked for a better person then Tiffany! She had all of the details organized. I did not have to worry about one thing since she took care of everything. She even carried the luggage from my mother in law's car to the limo so we wouldn't have to worry about it. Overall - Great Job!!
PROS: Very Attentive, Perfect Day-of Wedding Coordinator, inexpensive
CONS: Better Suggestions for other wedding venues
Overall, I was happy with Weslayen. The vet has always been helpful when we had questions and they are open late in the evenings. Plus their prices are reasonable. However, our dog sometimes seemed hungry when he got home and he always had to use the restroom right afterwards, so I am not sure how good of a facility it is to board dogs for a long period of time.
PROS: Long hours, quick response
CONS: attentiveness during boarding
