Potomac Bakery
I just love to go into this place and do so often. There are always great bekd goods in the window and fabulous smells coming out. They have some of the best Items I have ever tated. They have a white chocolate marble cake that is the greatest! This is only available by special order but it is well worth it. I beliebe they only need a day or two advance notice. The day old rack is a great place to get baked goods and bread for half off or even better. The items are just as good as what is in the case only cheaper! Be warned this is a bakery so get there early for the best selection. The staff are alays friendly and helpful. There is parking in a lot around back or a few spaces on the street. This is unusual for the area. ALso located close to public transportation both trolly and bus service. I have never been disappointed when I have gone here. In fact on 2 seperate occasions we got a sheet cake and traveled 100 miles with it because people love them so much!
Dormont Lanes
This is a nice little bowling alley tucked away in Dormont. It may be a little tricky to find at first but worth the time to look. It is close to public transportation and also it is attatched to a metered parking lot. Next time you are in the mood to bowl a few frames check them out. They even offer bumper and cosmic bowling from time to time. A great place to take the family.
Dormont Florists
This is a great place to get flowers or any of your floral needs from. They are located close to a bus stop as well as trolly service. They have beautiful items to choose from and can make almost anything. They run some great sales. Look for the cart on the sidewalk during the summer. They have some great finds there. If they do not have what you want just ask!
Mt Lebanon Trading Post
This is a great little church run thrift store. They also have some things on consignment. The ladies who work there are very friendly and willing to help. They usually carry very nice items and it is very easy to get to. The store is very easy to get awound in and everything is sorted into sizes for you. THe prices can not be beat. I just could not get over all the hidden treasures tucked away in this store.
Attraction's Hair & Nail Salon
This is a nice small local place to get your hair and nails done. It is very easy to get to. They have very friendly staff that really seem to enjoy being there. I think if you are looking for a new place give it a try. They have been in the same location for many years and always seem to have room to fit me into a busy schedule. At first I was a little leary about trying them but I am so glad that I did.
Potomac Furniture
This place is well worth the drive. They have qualoity furniture at good prices. If you need it they probably have it. They have a variety of syles to match many decors. I love the willingness of the staff to try to help you find the perfect item for you home. They try to accomidate most requests and even offer delivery.
Potomac Pharmacy
This is located right on the trolly line. They tend to carry some items that ou can not find anywhere else. In the summer they even have ice cream. It is a look into the pharmacy if yesteryear.
Yes the ailes are nearrow but the people who work there are so nice and helpful. They make you want to keep going back for every little thing. THere is hardly ever a wait. It takes no time at all to get your iems and get on your way. It is very small and cozy. Just the way a neighborhood pharmacy should be.
Laundry Basket
This is a great little laundry matt located in Dormont. They are convientenly located right on the trolly line. They even will let you drop off your clothes and pick them up later. They wash dry and press them or you can do your own. While you are there pick up some lottery tickets!! Great place. They have the best selection of instant lottery tickets I have ever seen.
Bills Produce In The Strip
This is located in the strip district of Pittsburgh and is a great place to get produce. Everything is fresh and keeps a long time. they have great prices and an even better variety of different produce! They are easy to find and have very friendly staff. They love to show off the fresh fruits and veggies. Plenty of parking as well. They may even have a few new recipe tip for you.
Stans Market
This is a great little place to buy produce year round in the strip district. They often have great prices and decent quality. Sometime if the price is to good to be true look closely at the item as it may be something that needs to be used that day or the next. Not a problem if you will be using it right away!!
