This is THE place to go if you want a hat! Whether you want something that is goofy, over the top outlandish, or just a nice sun hat, they have it! The staff will help you find exactly what you are looking for. I even found a hat here and I never thought I was a hat person! I found the pefect hat for myself with the help of the staff! Lots of fun to try on all the different hats!
Solstace
A really neat store. They sell merchandies that change color in the sun. They have t-shirts, bags, and anything else you can think of. Its lots of fun to watch all the shirts change colors. Especially great for kids. I believe they are only open during the summer seasons. A little pricey.
Under The Mistletoe
Great place for Christmas merchandise! They have literally any kind of Christmas decoration that you can think of.Christmas ornamaents (some very unusual ones!), stockings, knick-knacks, etc. This is where I find collectable pieces and some very unusual pieces. Prices are average. Store is decorated very nicely! The staff is very cheery!
Black Whale Cruises
This is a great option for entertainment. They provide cruises in the bay in the evenings, day fishing trips, as well as Atlantic city casino trips. The staff is friendly. On the bay trips, they provide music, entertainment for the kids, and really provide a party-like atmpsphere. Highly recommend this. Its a great thing to do when you are tired of sitting on the beach!
Island Book Store
A great little mom & pop book store that has been on the island for ages! Although the store is small, it has a large selection of puzzles, magazines, newspapers, and of course, books! The have mostly paperback books, although some hardbacks are available. Price is average. A great place to go and get books by local authors!
Phoenix
A great place for unique gifts and home items. They sell hand-made jewelry, clothing, furniture, mirrors, candles, etc. It kind of has a Native American flair to it. The shop keepers are very nice. The store is nicely decorated. Stuff is a little pricey, but you are paying for its one of a kindness.
Close To Home
This is a great collection of gifts and home dcor. Everything from large furniture pieces to picture frames are in this beautifully decorated store. They have kind of pottery barn inspired style. There are tons of displays set up so you get a good feel for how the products are set up. Although the store isnt big, you dont feel crowded despite the fact that there is TONS in this store. Little on the expensive side, but not outlandishly so!
Kapler's Pharmacy
Great old time pharmacy store. In addition to being able to fill your prescriptions, this store has anything you could possibly need in terms of medications and other things you need when you are down the shoreincluding body boards, suntan lotion, aloe for those sun burns, and toys for the kids. The building looks a little stuck in the 70s but the staff is great!
Prosolutions Incorporated
A great resource for AS-400 and other computer needs. This group of programmers keeps up with the latest technology from IBM. Their great programming skills mean that you can get pretty much anything customized for your needs. They always return calls & are great at providing instructions over the phone if you are in an emergency! Price is average. Staff is friendly!
Peiffer Driving School
This is the driving school that I used when learning to drive. They provide both classroom and behind the wheel time and will even take you to take the driving test. Their instructors were friendly, informative, and gave new drivers confidence. Their instructional cars were well-maintained. I had a great time learning to drive with them!
