Winterowd Florist has been in business for longer than I've been alive and their reputation has only grown in all this time. They are the premiere florist in my area and are known for always having gorgeous fresh flowers for any occassion. If you're having trouble selecting something, the staff is always ready to help find the perfect arrangement for your budget. If you've got to send something out of town, they'll take care of all the details for you.
Winterowd is a great florist.
If you're looking for a certain screw or need a certain weight nail, the people at Overland Hardware can help you find it with no problem and they'll be happy to do so.
A throwback to an era when the customer is always the number 1 priority, Overland Hardware is a great neighborhood location.
Another thing that you'll notice right away is that they've got Radio Flyers of all types. Everywhere. When my daughter was little she always wanted to go to the hardware store with her father so that she could just look at them all.
If you're in need of anything for around the house or if you're looking for a Radio Flyer - wagon, scooter, car or truck - this is the place to come.
City Museum entrances you from the moment you enter and see the giant slide shaped like animals. There are exhibits that the kids can use to learn and have fun at the same time. We made pottery items and the children learned how the clay was made and then when we were finished with that, we ventured over to the Aquarium section to view the Stingrays.
It's a fun and adventurous place that you can spend an entire day in.
A summer in St. Louis isn't complete without a trip to Grant's Farm. A part of the famous brewery conglomerate, the animal park is home to the famous Clydesdales and has free roaming cattle, buffalo, deer and other hooved animals.
There is an area where you can walk around in which you can see elephants, bears, ostriches, giant tortoises, kangaroos and other animals. They've got a petting area where you can mingle with the goats and give them a bottle if you're so inclined.
After you tour the animal areas, you can go to the food court area where adults can get to complimentary AB beverages if they want.
The only cost is for parking and it's a great experience for the whole family.
When a museum can hold the interest of a 10 year old child then you know that it's a winner. We spent a fun filled afternoon learning about St. Louis and Missouri and didn't even see the entire museum.
There is a very informative and interesting exhibit on early 1900's in St. Louis and the Chlorera epidemic. It was incredibly interesting learning about how they handled the problems with the water in keeping the disease from spreading.
There are also exhibits on famous Missourians and on Charles Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis.
The Muny is a St. Louis institution and deservedly so. We have had season tickets and make sure that we attend as many shows as we possibly can.
Despite the fact that performing in St. Louis during the summer can be a major chore, every show is pulled off with complete professionalism.
The shows usually have a few well known performers in them, but the bulk of the chorus is made up of local performers.
If you're looking for a night of totally fun entertainment, song, dance and theater under the stars, then be sure to visit the Muny. There is plenty of parking, tickets are affordable (even some free seats at each performance) and you can't beat the atmosphere of performing live.
After bad experiences at other dealers, we were pleasantly surprised by the staff at Reuther Jeep Eagle. The salesman, Randy, came and asked us if he could help steer us in the right direction and after telling him what we were looking for, he showed us what he had available for immediate delivery.
He then left us to look at the vehicles on our own. When we found something that we liked, he took us on a test drive and then asked if we'd like some time alone to discuss our opinions on the Jeep.
After we decided to make an offer, Randy offered to show our 10 year old where the refreshments and movies were so that we could negotiate without interruption. They were fair in their prices and didn't have any hard sell tactics.
We ended up buying an auto and as we'd had our own financing, were out of the facility within 1 hour with a brand new Jeep.
Excellent salesmanship and great prices.
The Senior Pictures that were offered at my daughter's high school were very high priced and not very original in their offerings. We took the obligatory head shot for the year book and then called the studio that took MY pictures all those years ago.
McCarty has very reasonable packages, will work with you to give you pretty much any pose you'd like for your pictures and they make sure that you are 100% satisfied before they stop taking pictures.
Our biggest chore was deciding on which of the proofs to keep because they were all great, there was not one picture in the entire folio that we wouldn't have been proud to have.
When my sister got married, I went through countless interviews with photographers and MJ Daniel was the most professional and had the best portfolio and studio settings.
The photographer made sure that every shot that she requested was taken before anything else and then he took the artistic shots. The in studio shots were breathtaking and the outdoor settings and props that they used made fun and gorgeous shots for the wedding party.
They provided affordable service and gave my sister a lifetime full of very pretty memories.
My 10 year old daughter decided that she wanted to take a class through the local Community Education Program that the Ritenour School District offers and chose a fencing class.
The class was very affordable and the instructor a joy to work with. He exhibited great patience in dealing with a bunch of children with foils and sabers and made learning the intricate steps required to be a good fencer fun and easy.
We will definitely be taking more classes through this system. It's a fun way to learn new things.
