Byers-Babineau Lori Dds - Babineau Family Dentistry
Babineau Family dentistry is a complete Dental office for the whole family. They're professional and the techicians are wonderful and friendly. Our 8 year old loves going here because they're great with her and when she's happy, everyone is happy. Wish there were more places like this! They accept most insurance and we just love them!
PROS: Excellent - Professional - Friendly!
CONS:
Mr Appliance
Recently my refrigerator went out and Mr. Appliance was out within hours to diagnose and fix the problem. The service man was friendly, courteous and ready to work. I just picked it out of the phone book and I'm glad I did. They did an excellent job and guaranteed their work - can't beat that! It was affordable and applied the service fee to the repair cost.
PROS: Professional, courteous and great work!
CONS:
Jahadi Kambiz Md
In my search for a Doctor in this area I've come across quite a few, but none compare to Dr. Jahadi. This Doctor must have missed that week in class for bedside manner! She didn't even look at me when I talked to her about my problems and was in and out like Flash Gordon! Although, she has moved to Cedar Park (the Scott & White Clinic there) I would try and find a more caring Dr. if you're searching for a new Doctor. No personality or verbal skills.
PROS: Not in Round Rock area anymore.
CONS:
Railroad Museum The Center for Transportation and Commerce
The Railroad museum in Galveston is another great informative place to take the family. This museum tells the story of the birth of railroads in Texas. Although they charge a small fee to get it the history value is worth it. The central waiting room is full of ghostly (full size) people from the past and there are pictures, china and lots to learn about railroads. It's worth a visit.
PROS: Informative and worth a trip!
CONS:
Midsummer Books
The Mardi Gras Museum in Galveston is nice place to take the whole family. It's a tribute to past Mardi Gras Celebrations and features lots of items including Costumes from the late 1800's. It's informative and the rotating exhibits are great. Tons of old pictures, memorabilia and models from the past! Best of all it's free! Not a big place but worth a trip.
PROS: Great exhibits and memorabilia - Free admission.
CONS:
Neptunes Kingdom
Neptunes Kingdom is a good place to take younger kids (the mini golf course is pretty easy for little ones to play on). They have a minimal amount of arcade games and the snack bar is limited. It's boring for adults but the kids love it. I will visit again just to watch the kids have fun but we prefer other places when we're in Galveston.
PROS: Great for the little kids, good prices.
CONS:
Go Kart Raceway
Go Kart Raceway is the kind of place you enjoy going to on a regular basis. Now that we don't live in Houston, we look forward to visiting family and going to GO KART RACEWAY as well. They Go Cart are super fast, the track is great. They have a lounge with couches and a big screen TV (and Pool Table) for us older folks, a 2 story arcade for the younger crowd and a super concession stand. Young or Old - It's a great (addicting...) place to go for FUN!
PROS: Something for everyone!
CONS: Can get expensive!
Scream World
We really love going to Screamworld with the family. The park is pretty big but not so big that you wear out fast. They have 4 Haunted houses (one especially for Movie Monsters). They have concessions, arcade games, a rock climbing wall and more. However, it's not good for children under 7 (unless they enjoy the scariness of the park). Our's just love it. Prices are reasonable, much less than a larger amusement park - under $20 for adults and around $10 for kids. It's just a fun place to go for a family outing.
PROS: Fun and Scary!
CONS: Not good for children if they scare easily!
Oak Forest Veterinary Clinic
This is one of the greatest places in the Houston area to take your pets on an annual basis, emergency or any other reason. The staff is caring, the Vets are wonderful and everything is state of the art right in the clinic. It's a place you can feel good about from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. Prices are affordable and it doesn't get any better than that!
PROS: Caring staff, great communication, great prices!
CONS:
Kanine Koiffures
I recently had my 2 poodles groomed at this place (close to home and convenient) and the owner was so unfriendly when I dropped them off that I actually felt bad leaving my dogs! When I picked them up I was really disappointed. It looked like they were just clipped with the scissors and not clippers (random hair was sticking out everywhere, top of their hair was not rounded and their feet were not clipped completely). For $92 I would expect a better job! No bows in their ear or anything to make it a special event. There are better places that take pride in their work to take your animals to! Stay away from this place!
PROS:
CONS: Expensive, unfriendly, awful grooming!
